Charlie is close to getting the ship righted. He really deserves another year. Based on the current climate of our country I think it would be a nice statement for Texas to keep him.

Not true. Texas is considering several other options if they move on from strong. Herman may not be in play and if he is, he's not the top candidate

In 2006, Franchione lost 3 regular season games by a combined total of 6 points.

I bring this up because, after 35 games, Strong and Franchione have the same record (16-19). He has to win out and win the bowl to stay on Fran's pace (18-19 after 37)

Texas is gonna hang on to Strong. And next year, they're gonna win 10+ games.

10+ is gonna be hard after USC whips their arse in week 3. They will need wins against power houses like K-State next year to make it happen. Type in Texas on Google they suggest A&M before UT even comes up, time for a change.

Curious who else do you think Texas is looking at? The good thing is we will have our answers pretty soon.

1.) Herman
2.) Kelly
3.) Mullen
4.) Sumlin

The people that think they're actually gonna hire fleck are out of their fudging mind. Programs like Texas, USC, LSU, Bama, and OSU don't hire coordinators or HCs at smaller schools. They hire HCs from B level schools (Arky, Wash, Wisc, Ok State) not C or D level schools. Fleck will be a HC at a major program at some point but he needs to go to a school like Purdue, Mizzou, Baylor, or Indiana and win first. Basically, he needs to be Urban Meyer (who he reminds me of) or Chris Peterson (who will be the HC at USC at some point in the next 5-10 years).

Living Here in Austin, I have front row seats to this shite show. I kinda feel bad for Charlie Bc he got thrown in this shite, but knew this was to be expected. UT's program is proof that all the money in the world doesn't carry over to success. Their program is a hot boiling mess. Boosters fighting since Mack got bounced, the whole black cloud of hookers, blow and roids. And the booster in fighting has gotten worse. Texas Brought a lot of this on themselves. They are also still butt hurt that Saban rejected their $100 million package. Mack brown cocked blocked it. It's essentially a fight between the old UT guard and the new money TX Ex crowd. They have insane expectations like Beat the Sooners every year and win the big 12. If Herman can turn it around that would be huge. But if he lays an egg his first year, he better win in his 2nd.

Sark would have a better shot at coaching in Texas than Briles. The brass that run the state, black balled him. They don't frick around with rape here in texas.

God I hope they hire Sumlin away.

That would be John Mackovic part 2.

I hope you are right. Herman is Sumlin 2.0. Winner at Houston and probably good enough to win 8 or 9 games in a major conference.

Sumlin was 13-1 at Houston the year A&M hired him. There is a strong possibility that Herman will be 8-5 this year. Strong has to beat Kansas on the road(a gimme) and 5-4 TCU at home and a bowl win and he will also be 8-5.

Does a school fire a 8-5 coach just to hire a 8-5 coach?

herman. i know this breaks alot of LSU hearts but it will be herman

Probably so. I used to work in Texas with some Texas alums that gave to the school and athletic department. There is a whole lot of money available for the right guy. If they are in love with Herman and it becomes a biding war, Texas is willing to break the bank for the right guy

Sumlin was 12-1. He didn't coach the bowl.
