I don't see this scenario happening. If Herman and Fisher turn down the job, and coach O loses no more than 3 games, I think he will get the job, and given an open check book to go out and hire the best OC he can find. To be honest, I think O will get the job and bring in LK. Keep in mind that if coach O gets the gig, there is a better chance that all the assistants we have will stay. If we get a new coach, there is no telling who will stay and who will go. I think LSU has the best group of position coaches in the country, minus BDP, and if O gets the job with Arranda as DC, and LK as OC, LSU will be playing with a stacked deck. We would also have a pretty solid group when it comes to recruiting as well. Regardless of what happens and who LSU hires, I believe they will be fine. LSU has always had the talent, and only need a coach that can utilize that talent.

There won't be anything wrong with giving Chip a call and seeing if he is tired of the NFL. He doesn't like recruiting, but we can compensate through the assistants for that.

Why the hell would Lane Kiffin come to LSU to be the same type of position coach he already is at Bama?

You don't jump schools laterally unless you get a promotion or a raise. It isn't a promotion and Bama would match an offer of a raise.

Besides, he would then be working for a coach who used to work for him. That's a blow to the ego I doubt he would swallow.

If LSU loses 3 more games, do you REALLY blame Coach O?

Seriously, how much can he do in one month?

To answer the question, Kiffin starts to become a real possibility, although one I'm opposed to.

PJ Fleck and Brohm are the two best out of that group.

I prefer Brohm simply because I like the Patrino style offense that he would bring.

He would do it to get away from Saban. Money isn't everything. If I worked for a complete A hole, I would make a lateral move for the same pay. Less stress is a big perk to some.

Dabo
and if not him then we spiral down to

Gundy
Petrino
Peterson
Fedora

keep adding to the list. We should hope it does not go this way-- we will once again setting for a tier two or three coach

For once LSU should step up and fight for the best- if not we should have just kept CLM

I just will never understand why people believe Kiffin would ever leave Alabama for anything other than a HC job. He will ALWAYS be successful at Bama as long as Saban is there. Why would you leave a situation of almost guaranteed success for a lateral move? Why would you leave that situation to go to a team that has a new coach and more unsurety? I just can't even fathom how anyone could think this is a possibility.

Has he ever said that he disliked Saban?

Nope, but being successful in this business is. I'm not saying he wouldn't be sucessful here, but you don't leave a program working for the best coach in college football where you won a championship to make lateral move. It would be the dumbest moment of his career, and he's had a lot of dumb moments.

If we can't all come to a consensus then we won't end up having a team next year!
