I think lenning is the guy I least want, as I think he’s a pretty good coach. But other than that I have no preference….whats everyone thinking?

It doesn't matter, they get worse. They probably wont go down to bad territory by any means.

But you don't get better by losing Nick Saban as your head coach.

Don't care. They will be good because they are Alabama but they will no longer be dominate or oppressive becuase the goat has retired. LSU will be able to compete with them regularly now. With the hires we made and Kelly's emphaisis on locking up the state and Kirby targeting the same areas as Alabama for recruits, I look for LSU to stay in the top 5 in recruiting for forseeable future and competing for SEC titles and Playoffs. I believe Bama is about to endure what LSU fans did during 2010 to 2020 watching Kirby come into their state and surrounding area and take their prized recruits. Also Freeze at Auburn doesnt help.

I'm not scared of anyone they bring in. Whoever it is will crumble in the face of the criticism of "Saban wouldn't have done it like this." Those Bama fans were saying the game had passed Saban by and it was time for him to go. When the new guy does find success (and they will win a lot of games for sure) it will be because they were handed over a gold mine. When the new coach is so terrrible that he loses two game in a season, he will be the biggest bust and fraud of all time.

I don’t know that we WANT any coach in particular. But I wouldn’t be shocked to see Tommy Rees come down.

Who cares. Let them get whoever. lanning. Sark. Kiffin. No one will have the same success as Saban. He was just built different. Plus the landscape of College Football has forever changed. The playing field has leveled. Which is one of the reasons he left. He no longer had a monopoly on players or could control the landscape of football. Saban was successful because he had better players than everybody else. Once that left his domination ended too. Will Bama still be successful? Sure. But not like the run they from 2009-2017. So let them hire whoever they want. LSU along with the rest of college football are good.

Look at LSU’s success after Saban. We won for 2 decades with mediocre coaches largely because of what Saban built. Bama will be solid for another decade unless they totally botch this hire. Also things will change a lot faster in the transfer portal era. I’m pretty sure an average coach could win at least one title at bama off of Saban’s leftovers.
But honestly the best opportunity will be taking over Alabama after the next guy.

I will add that sustaining a successful program is a different skill set (maybe harder to do) than rebuilding a program. Guys that rebuild programs always get hired, but that’s not what bama should be looking for. They need a sustainer (that’s what Les miles was). An established guy that has been steady and consistent even if he’s never been great.

I want Dabo at Bama

He is essentially Les miles and I could live with him backing his way to only 1 title
