Brian Schottenheimer to Florida.

Played under Spurrier / Dad was a legit NFL coach / Been the OC at NYJets recently.

He is young and could do some damage at Florida in terms of recruiting. PLay calling could be better, but with great players anything is possible.

As a Bama fan I would like to see Bama make a run at him.

Schottenheimer is a name on the search board but I do not believe he will get the job.

If he does well he's too much of a threat to leave for a HC job.

We need someone who will stick around for a while.

I believe it's going to be Brian White or Kerwin Bell based on what I know now which is almost nothing. The search has been very hush hush.

I think Mike Groh has a real chance of being promoted to OC at Alabama. FML if so.

As both a Bama fan AND a Jets fan, frick NO.

Generic playcaller, repetitive playcaller(teams caught on to his patterns more than once this year), bad QB teacher, and stops doing what works in favor of another part of the offense.

When it comes to QBs, he tries to mask their problems instead of trying to fix them. There can also be a case made for him being the prime reason Drew Brees was so inconsistent in comparison to what he is now(his QB coach for most of the time at SD).

So I pray Jacksonville takes him as a HC or Florida takes him as an OC...

But he's the son of a legend, UF grad, and taught Drew Brees everything he knows

Hiring him would probably kill the excitement that's coming with the new owner/era for the Jaguars. Seems like Chudzinski is the favorite right now.

I just really hope the Jets haven't fired him yet as a professional courtesy. It would submarine his chances at a HC job if he just got "fired".

And if he doesn't find a suitable job, let him go...

Do any of these sound feasible? Posted over on BOL.

I've heard all 3 before, the first 2 are more feasible than Linehan. In addition to the few posted in the Randy Sanders thread(other than Sanders).

Linehan has a cushy job as OC of the Lions, I can't see him leaving that. If he leaves, it's for a HC job, which he has been before. I've also heard he has a son who is playing ball in Michigan, so that's another reason to stay if he doesn't get a HC job...

wasn't Lineham Saban's QB coach at Miami ? If he's the guy I'm thinking about he went on to be the Rams' coach. But I wouldn't hold that against him. As someone who's pulled for the Rams since the Fearsome Foursome days the Rams' front office is a disaster.

Linehan is currently the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. The guy has it made with Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. He would have to be a lunatic to leave that position for a college OC job.

Oh and I don't want Pease or Brohm. Bryan Harsin, the previous Boise State OC has sucked at Texas so far. The success of that Boise State offense is entirely due to Chris Petersen. As for Jeff Brohm, Illinois is 91st in scoring offense and 87th in total offense this year. I don't want him either.

Would love this, actually praying he comes here. They have led their division in scoring for the past 3 years

This has less to do with Harsin and more to do with the indians. Way too many of them and not one chief.

Mack wanted to make the change to a pro-style offense, but he hasn't sold out to it. They still have parts of different offenses and have no identity.

I think next year is the last go-round for Mack in Austin.

I personally want Josh McDaniels to be Alabama's next OC. He has connections to Saban from his days at Michigan State. He's shown that he's capable of making pedestrian QBs look pretty good with Cassell and Orton. He can rise back up the ladder pretty quickly if he becomes the Alabama OC.
