you ask what's his connection other than spending the a majority of his coaching career here.. And being a part of something special.

Why did Bobby Petrino go back to Louisville after the Arky drama? That man is from Montana! I know it's not the same bc of much different circumstances and opportunities.. but the point is he returned where he felt most comfortable or at home.

Why is so far fetched for people to believe this exist? it's not too often a HC job opens up at LSU..

Like LE said, money is the overriding factor and only the clueless and communists would argue otherwise. However, other things appear to be coming into play.

The heat is on, at Free Shoes U. The CNN special coming out. Then the redirect of it with the rape report that focused on the past 9 years there. Supposed pre-existing friction between Jimbo and the AD predating all that.

Jimbo being allowed to bring on his bro bro at LSU, and the Fishers liking a particular specialist in Louisiana for their youngest son in their quest to find a cure for Fanconi Anemia.

In the end though, we will have to beat them out with the money IMO.

I buy most of your post, except this. I just haven't seen it substantiated, but I have seen that, in fact, the main Dr. for this is in Minnesota.

i would assume he would be here til he retires. if he didn't leave for the nfl after last year or the year before i don't think he ever will.

I have seen it mentioned on 247. Here is one of the posts.

LINK

I know that is a wall of post, but that's the only link I'm pulling up at the moment.

I find it interesting that FSUs board was laughing at the notion of Jimbo leaving two days ago, and now most all of the content is premium about Jimbo now and the ones that I can see are a lot of "would be sad to see him go but I think he'll stay in the end" type posts.

Jimbo coached here for 7 seasons. Probably has a lot of friends here. Probably knows he will get along with LSU Admin better than FSU Admin. He has an opportunity to return to the SEC, which is the premier conference.

I think all of this is true. However, unless one of these is a bigger issue than people understand...then there is some other reason. FSU to LSU is about as close as you can get to a lateral move.

lol

People are giving reasons why Jimbo leaves, which are really ugly on him and the program he ran at FSU, and then literally jumping up for joy, that he comes to LSU. rape, criminal cover ups, yeah, sign him up! lol

I think you are missing the point.

Many feel it is unfair for FSU to redirect the blame of rape/bad behavior coverup onto him, and focus on only his tenure there when there has been a systemic problem of coverup by the University/Tallahassee PD for far longer. This could be a reason for Jimbo to be uncomfortable there...duh.

Besides a bunch of anonymous posters, there are a few things that are concrete that might point to a lateral move to LSU. Moffitt retweeting the FSU slanted "rape report" and then deleting the tweet (could be either A) doesn't want to appear trash a former LSU OC and is appeasing angry LSU fans, or B) Jimbo is a strong possibility and would bring in Vic Villoria as exclusive head of S&C). We also have Jimbo making a few freudian slips recently (e.g., "Brandon" Harris, winning an "SEC Championship). Wearing neutral colors to an FSU PC when that isn't his normal MO.

All of this is very circumstantial, but even the casual observer can see the smoke here.

No one does this anymore.

Ole Miss fans say this about Freeze, because he was born in Oxford and has all his family in North Mississippi. But he verbally accepted the FL job until Archie personally intervened and convinced him to stay.

Besides, the delusional fanbases these days refuse to understand the nature of a zero sum game. Jimbo has a few bad years in BR and he's out just like Miles.

LSU HC job>>>>>>>FSU HC job, & it isn't close.

Facilities, support, recruiting in LA, program history all far exceeded at LSU.
