You don't need an elite OC. You just need to surround him with elite position coaches. Alleva has already shown that that's how to build a championship level program.

A kid drawing up plays on Madden could probably call a better game than Les if only because they would be less predictable for a while.

I don't understand the basis of this argument? Ideally, and not just on football teams but in every business, you want elite talent at every position possible. The best bosses usually recognize that they don't hold all the answers, and need to surround themselves with good people to actually get things done.
