I am not advocating for him as OC, but god damn over the last few days he’s gone from beloved to hated.

Just wondering why? Other than getting fired from Carolina, did I miss something

Most can see that he’s overrated, and a faction of LSU fans vehemently disagree and think hiring him will catch another 2019 in a bottle.

People are stupid.

The success wasnt 100% him but to downplay his role is stupid. Sure we had incredible talent but he did a great job organizing and putting the framework in for E to call and him to make recommendations

Ok. But why the change? Just a few weeks ago most would have killed to have him back running the offense.

Hell, it was called the Joe Brady offense. No we are discounting that and saying it was all Ensminger.

The extreme 180 turn doesn’t make sense, even if you don’t want him hired as OC.

I mean being overrated isn't necessarily terrible, he just was crowned so quick, so fast. The NFL is tough, you can scheme all you want but everyone is good, you need players, look at Urban Meyer with Trevor Lawrence. Doesn't mean he couldn't be a good college OC.

Our fanbase is full of children who lash out when they feel someone left them

There's definitely a coordinated campaign against him on this site.

That, combined with a portion of the fan base who thinks failure at the NFL level shows that he's not capable of being successful in college results in what you are seeing.

He brought in the offense that utilized the talent we had on the roster. That's just a fact. Nobody will be able to recreate what we had going in 2019, even if Brady had stayed on the next year.

Look at the quarterbacks he had to work with in Carolina. I think maybe he wasn't quite ready to lead an offense in the NFL, but you can only do so much with Teddy, Darnold, and Cam.

I think he could get this offense back on track and still pretty dangerous, especially helping the receivers. We make sure our defense doesn't sink to the lows of '20 and early this year and we're in business.

I can't believe there are so many people on this board that would be against having Joe Brady as the OC. Although, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

In 2019 we had:

HC - Ed O
OC - Ensminger
PGC - Joe Brady
Players - Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, CEH

We put together maybe the greatest offense in football history that year.

In 2018 we had:

HC - Ed O
OC - Ensminger
Players - Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, CEH

What's the one thing missing from that list?

Let's look at 2020 as well. Ensminger was also OC. We lost lot of players, but our offense didn't look even close to the same.

Burrow certainly played a huge part in our offense, but for posters to sit here and pretend that Brady didn't play a major role in that are about as dumb as it gets.

If Ensminger was responsible for the 2019 offense, then:

- Why did Orgeron spend all season calling it the "Joe Brady offense?"

- Why did that offense not have near the success under Ensminger in 18 or 20?

The NFL is more difficult to coach than college.

They feel scorned.

I mean just look at the 180 this board did on Lincoln Riley

Honestly I think he was scapegoated by Rhule. That offense was going to be shitty regardless of coordinator, frickin Darnold and Cam at qb, McCaffery out, sub par receivers..

Brady isn't worthless, just likely not the wonderkid people thought it was after our 2019 season.

Just like how Brady did contribute a lot to LSU for 2019 but, on the same token, would likely have been very replaceable in that role.

People have drawn really weird lines for Brady. Lots of totality/polar requirements, like either he gets 100% of the blame or support for 2019 when it's more nuanced.

Bc rantards are over emotional pussys! “He failed!!!”

Forgetting he had no QB, best offensive player on the team/NFL has only been on the field…5 games in past 20 or so lol. Take Clyde and Joe off the field…

Also, Nick failed with no QB…nfl is hard lol

Would he be a damn good OC..I believe so.

Do you break the bank for him, no.

But don’t think Dabo/Saban/smart/Aub/Fla/Oklahoma etc wouldn’t take him in a heartbeat.

Burrow went from solid to 2018 to the GOAT in 2019. It wasn't JUST Brady but he obviously had a lot to do with it.

If you've watched the Bengals and Panthers this season, and last, it's pretty clear that the 2019 LSU offense was special because of Burrow. The 2019 team was loaded with current NLF starters at skill and Oline positions.

Brady's play calling in Carolina has been bad. He gives up on the run right out of the gate and doesn't make adjustments.

I haven’t heard that he is a worthless POS. I have heard that he may not be the best OC that ever existed either. What’s cringe worthy and has been is calling it Joe Brady’s offense. It’s really Sean Payton’s offense that was “borrowed”. All credit to Joe Brady for implementation and management of the passing portion of what we saw in 2019.

What happened?

* Brady just got fired by an actual college OC. that became an NFL HC
* Bradys top recommendation for LSU OC was Peetz
* EdO got fired chasing the mythical Joe Brady offense

Maybe the Joe Brady offense is just hype?
