yup. don't always get to sit back and wait for the perfect moment.

i'd like to see another year or two as a HC, but given his resume as an OC i just use his one year in charge as validation more than anything.

A guy like him, I would be willing to give 2 years to build on. He is a good candidate

it'll be between us and sc. i like the trojans and all, but it's not the same.

he's from socal (born in ohio, but moved out west at 3 or some such). he played for cal lutheran in thousand oaks. i'm not sure he would pick us over them, though i don't think they are gonna offer him. word is they're after a pro coach and , lol, fisher.

USC will get Kelly or Carroll. I think the latter will bail on Seattle now that they've peaked and he has a Super Bowl win.

He seems like a great candidate. Its not just how good Houston has been, but how Ohio St has unexpectedly struggled after returning everyone on offense from last year. He would definitely be high on my list.

Yeah, but USC is a relatively easy job for a good recruiter who knows the West Coast. If Kelly or Carroll are headed back to college, now is the time. And that is the job.

I think he is an awesome coach for LSU . Young smart, energetic youthful - fresh approach U think he brings to a stale Football program that has gotten lazy relying on talent only. Hire him or Mullen we would not regress with either of them.

This guy looks like a very strong candidate indeed.

Hope he gets a good look by the decision makers be it Alleva or Mystery Boosters or Board members or whatever

I agree with previous posters that there is no sure thing hire out there, and that we are better off hiring a rising star like Herman who can stay with us for a long time so we don't have to go through this Shiite again anytime soon.

If you get past the obvious guys, Herman would be the best of the "lesser known" candidates.
