We're any NFL people looked at?

It makes no sense. How can you limit your search to two candidates with a guaranteed fall back? I don't know if there's such a thing as AD malpractice, but not looking at pros and college up and comers would be it. Even if it's just to say that you did an exhaustive search and to give yourself better leverage when you've drilled down on who you want.

It's a state institution. They have to interview a certain number of people.

He said NO ONE wanted to come here. Go pout somewhere else.

Nobody was looked at. Alleva offered the two "big name" coaches (who would leave) the opportunity to come to LSU and get paid peanuts. When they predictably said "no" he offered the job to O which was the plan all along.

he did not engage in a search. he did not look at all of our options.
