Was told Art Briles getting a good look from the University of Houston...

Apparently, there is a desire for an older coach that won't be so quick to jump ship to a bigger job...some influential donors are pushing hard for Briles, but they concede his baggage may be too much. The older coach idea is why you are hearing Holgorsen's name too. My source (who is different than the other one that gave me UofH news before...haha) also mentioned Holgorsen as one of the top candidates.

Tilman Fertita who is the largest UH donor and is involved in everything including coaching searches, sat in on all the expansion meetings with the Big 12, etc... was on the radio today for 1 1/2 hours and he talked about the coaching search a bit. Les Miles is one of the people on the list, Briles is not.
Briles... what Fertita said was the while every person deserves a second chance, the whole story around Briles and what went on at Baylor still is not known. Sounds like UH was uncomfortable with Briles. He indicated that Briles was not under consideration by UH.

Briles is toxic right now but since the Big 12 is not in their future why not take a look at Briles
I think the Baylor story will start bleeding out soon, it is too juicy for people to keep quiet about.
