Tubby and Muschamp

I think if we could get Tubby here at LSU, Will Muschamp would follow closely behind him. This would be my first choice. The two, we already know can work well together and Muschamp has already been here.
Does anyone disagree that LSU should not try and persue this double steal from Auburn. Plus it would add so much more to the rivalry. Plus you know Tubby is good for a win against Bama almost every year.

"Plus it would add so much more to the rivalry."
That's what Skip and Co. should be concerned about...adding to the rivalry. Nice.

That is not the main point of the post. It is just an added bonus, i am not saying that Skip should look at this as for rivalry reason. Plus Skip is not going to be involved in the hiring process as much as you may think.

I was going to post this same topic a few days ago.
I agree that we should go after Muschamp, regardless of what Pelini does. IF Les leaves, why not look at Tubby as well? Like him or not, his teams have consistently overacheived in the SEC, particularly on the road. He is one of a few candidates who would be a perfect fit for the HC job.

I must say that I've been fairly impressed with Tubby's sideline demeanor in the few games I've seen of him on TV this year....he seems much more mature and relaxed than in previous years...he almost broke out in a grin a few times when bad calls were made against him, yet kept the team on track to overcome Bama's push last week.....impressive coach despite some folks' perception of him from his past.

This would be the best case scenario IMO for the Tigers and their faithful!

Really? Averaging almost 4 losses per year in his 9 years at Auburn is overacheiving?
I would hate for our expectations to ever drop so low again, that 4 losses would be overacheiving.

I could not agree more. I know it is terrible to say but....LSU means more to me than many members of my family. But if TT becomes our next HC, I would not only stop being an LSU fan but I would probably start wishing for them to lose every game just to get TT's arse fired. But hopefully we won't have to worry about that.

You cant argue that Tubby is a good coach, with no ties to a major university as his almater where he would maybe want to coach one day. Which means he could stay awhile and him with our talent would be great. In a state where he wouldn't have to compete with another major college he would be able to recruit.
Yeah he maybe an arse but so was Saban and he did a great job here. I want a guy like Muschamp back on the sideline as well, someone who is not afraid to blitz, and shows emotion with the defensive players.

Average losses per year among top coaches:
1. Carroll 2.0
2. Tressell 2.1
3. Stoops 2.3
4. Brown 2.5
5. Richt 2.7
5. Bowden 2.7
7. Carr 3.0
7. Fulmer 3.0
7. Paterno 3.0
10. Saban (LSU) 3.2
11. Tuberville 3.6
11. Rodriguez 3.6
13. Beamer 4.0
14. Tedford 4.1
Looking at this list, I would argue that Auburn is the most difficult job based on location, talent pool, conference, and in-state competition, except for maybe WVU and Va Tech. His record is pretty good, even compared to coaches with EXTREME advantages.

LSU has more talent than Auburn and a better recruiting base. Not too mention better facilities, a bigger fanbase, and more money.

That is the point of my post, and to try and talk some sense to Chicot.

Every other school in SEC better hope this never happens
