I wonder if we blew our load on the other big defensive hires or if this guy just really wanted to link up with Kirby.

Doubt we were giving out the Co-DC title, and likely already have a DB coach in waiting to be announced

ETA to be clear this isn’t a “we didn’t want him” post, just don’t think it timed out to work out. Georgia probably has a lot of connections with that staff in general to move quickly in this situation

Bama fans I saw were more excited about the idea of promoting Robinson than the head coaching hire. Sounds like a loss for them.

That has to be a really tough pill to swallow. Boss move by Kirby, but damn. Tough for Will.

Probably gets to keep atleast a hefty chunk if not all of his salary, work less, and watch his son play and can hop back into the machine anytime he wants elsewhere

Maybe a bit philosophical here, but arguably a better life situation than signing up for 100 mil dollar SEC contract and the pressure that comes with it

Schumann doesn’t want a lateral move. He will get his shot as HC at Bama when this fails.
