News Talk radio 740 AM this morning. They are reporting that Tom Herman is denying any talks with LSU. The broadcast reported Jimbo Fisher as the front runner for the LSU coaching job.

I really hope Tom Herman is hired as LSU's next coach. He is a "players" coach and is young, fresh and successful.

I think this hire would energize the fan base and recharge the players and potential recruits.

Trying not to get my hopes up like I did for fisher last year. Herman would be a homer run, except the ball would travel and hit the moon

What's the man going to say? "Well, I am focused on coaching Houston right now. But my agent has been talking with LSU since right after they lost to Wisconsin. My agent said we're about there, just some annuity language."

Plausible deniability.
"I haven't been contacted by Lsu"

Doesn't mean that his agent has not. He also said that he wasn't going to comment on stuff like that during the year. Notice he never came out and said he wasn't going anywhere

First, LSU isn't talking to Herman. They are talking to Herman's agent.

Second, coaches leave even when they aren't supposed to or thought to.

That is ridiculous. Not saying LSU will definitely get him but he is the hot commodity and there is no way a commuter school that takes a back seat to literally every other program in the state is going to hang on to him.

Everyone who needs a coach right now is going to ask Herman to come join them.

I don't really think he will be the next coach. More likely to be Coach O or Fisher.

Honestly wouldnt mind Coach O with the right OC and keep Arnada where he is.

It's way to early for talks with Herman anyway.

Universities hire outside agencies to contact and negotiate with coaches.

The principal behind this is so the coach can flat out say he has had no contact with another university. He hasn't. he has had contact with the firm hired by the university.

You can book that tom herman has and will be contacted. Whether or not we can hire him is a different story.

Media in Houston is way over the top in homerism...U of H is a glorified HS compared to LSU or USC...it's a stepping stone job...there's a case of self righteous butthurt every time a coach leaves...Herman has 2 choices, may the best bidder win

Vise, You are so right on. The headhunters talk to the agents and then the agents talk to the coach. So, no... hw has not personally talked to LSU. But, you can bet his is way up on the prospective coach list. I hope O has great success and stays as the HC. Folks down S La way....love some BEBE! Plus, he speaks our kind of language and correctly says football. GEAux O!
