This could be a huge week for the Coaching Carousel.

If LSU does to Florida what it did to Mizzou (and, as bad as the Gator offense is, it might) then Coach Oeaux' stock takes a big jump.

If OU hangs 50 on TX (and they could) Strong may not be officially fired, but he could be.

If Washington hangs 50 on Oregon (and, the Oregon D is even worse than the FSU D) then Helfrich is toast.

If Colorado beats USC, and they are favored, then there may be a race between LSU, TX, and USC to see who can hire Herman first.

And, if ND loses to NCSU (another ACC loss) Brian Kelly's job will be anything but secure.

Note: I'm new here. If this board is only to discuss LSU coaching changes I apologize for posting this. I'm hoping it is for coaching changes in general.

If Strong is let go, I would bet big money that UT lands Herman.

Nah, you're good. These changes have LSU implications anyway. And you're right, all of those positions opening up could cause one of the craziest off seasons we've seen.

McMurphy's source added that if Texas continues its downward spiral, "the most likely scenario is that the defensive staff would be sacrificed" in order for Strong to come back next year.

I'm an LSU fan, so obviously I want Herman here if he is first choice over Jimbo. But, we don't know who is first choice right now... Regarding the TX job, they can give him things LSU can't, and I don't think LSU will go over $7 million. They may not want to even go that high, though. He spent 10 years coaching in TX, and got his Masters from UT, and some claim he's said it's his dream job. The fact is, nobody on here knows anything for sure yet. Herman doesn't even know where he will be in 2017 yet...

Two things:

1) Most years, this board is dedicated to LSU fans talking about other coaching openings. I first came here during the "Miles to Michigan" of '07. Yeah, other coaching jobs are discussed.

2) Be nice to that "Chicken" guy who replied to your post.

Why wouldn't I be nice to him. I love chicken. I prefer fried, but I'll settle for baked.

I think USC and Texas are patient 1 more year. And, don't think they really want to bump up against LSU in a coaching search, either.

I think Oregon and ND will be searching for new coaches too.

I am thinking that Herman is not our top choice, at this point I think it's Jimbo and then Herman and if Coach Oeaux keeps winning he'll move to the top.

The arrogance of the Texas program knows no bounds. Hell they're worse than us, which isn't an easy thing to do.

If OU runs them out of the stadium look out. I wouldn't put it past them to fire Strong just to try and win the Herman sweepstakes.
