There's no way Jimbo only wanted 6.5.

Seriously, there's no fricking way LSU turned away Jimbo Fisher with ESPN's alleged offer unless we knew Herman was on board, right?

RIGHT?

eta: Everyone assumed it'd take 6.75-7 million MINIMUM to land him. How did we not drool over this proposal? 10 years is a fun run with a guy like Jimbo.

There are a lot of ways LSU can frick this up. I wouldn't be surprised by any of it.

Everyone thought it'd take AT LEAST 6.75-7 to take Jimbo from a consensus top 5 job. It's seriously unfathomable we wouldn't accept that unless we have a guy in place.

If he was demanding by 6.5 x 10 we had to turn it down

No, but he wanted for 10 years!! It wasn't the figure, it was the length.

Espn reported that he wanted at least $6.5M for 10 years. A $65M commitment is pretty ridiculous. And it shows that he wasn't very serious about the job. He was only going to listen if LSU broke the bank.

It's for the best. If Herman signs..it's the gods intervention.

Jimbo was a Jimbo power play. I don't he ever actually intended to come to LSU.

Bottom line -- if Jimbo WANTED to be the LSU HC, he'd be the LSU HC

I don't know, but I am glad Fisher will not be our head coach.. Unless something happens and we have no choice to hire someone like... Gene Chizik or something then I would prefer to have Jimbo Fisher, I really hope this Tom Herman thing works out.
