There is no consensus #3

I wasn't on the O bandwagon, I was more than a little perturbed that the deal wasn't done prior to firing Miles
However, the biggest problem with the antiO crowd is the failure to have a consensus better option.
I know, I know... "anybody would have been better"
It is at this point, your bias shows and your criticism of O is more about a failure not to secure fisher or Herman and in both cases it's not as simple as just writing a check, grown men with ties and opinions beyond salary.

The grammar of an O supporter.

It was a dog shite hire. Fleck would be more readily accepted than a guy who has a career record of 10-25.
Does is not bother you that literally no other school wanted him, at all... like, not even as a DC?
Give me Fleck, Gundy, Fedora, or about 20 others before I even consider O. Alleva should be fired

Actually the problem most Anti-O people have is with Alleva. Actually hold some interviews. Truly have a vetting process that allows for the best candidate to win the job. Brohm, Fleck, etc. never even had a chance. Alleva had a man crush on Jimbo and once that plan was aborted he went cheap with Ed fricking Orgeron.

May 1,000,000 upvotes rain upon you!
But seriously, history will tell us this was one the most epic failures of a head coaching search in modern day college football. There were literally 10 coaches that should have been on LSU's radar that are more qualified than O. Instead, Alleva spent 2+ months with his dick in his hand banking on hiring one of two coaches. In the end, his failure as an AD lead to O being hired. It was pathetic.

Who's to say there was no #3? Both Saban and Miles had about the same success prior to being hired by LSU as any of the presumed #3 options in this search.
I hope O does well. I really do. But hiring O is closer to a hire like Johnny Jones. Hiring someone like Fedora would have been closer to the precedent of the Miles/Saba hires

There are many coaches whom the consensus would think is a better hire. Certainly, you understand that, no?
Suggesting that the lack of a single guy that stands above the rest indicates hat the Orgeron hire is as good as any is idiotic.

Nice try...
In the OP, I explained that the "anybody would be better crowd" is idiotic !!
The point being, it's not enough to say O is a bad hire. You have to offer alternatives.
PJ Fleck could be great however he has lost 21 games in the MAC
Gundy has a winning percentage of 66%
He averages about 4-5 losses a year in the big 12.
Brohm averages 3-4 lossss a year in the conference USA
Admit it, if Gundy was the hire 90% of the antiOs would be firmly in the antiGundy camp.
It's easier to criticize than it is to provide solutions.

Sorry for the lone down vote.... I hit an upvote and it entered as a down vote!! Hmmmmm....
You are exactly right..... it was a dog shite hire.

The criticism is that there were so many preferable solutions.

quote:gundy is 104-50 at Okie light
Gundy has a winning percentage of 66%
He averages about 4-5 losses a year in the big 12.
62% win percentage in conference and 67% overall
miles was 28-21 overall and 16-16 in conference 57% overall 50% in conference
He already followed miles once and built on and improved what miles did. He would have the best incoming resume of any coach LSU has ever hired
Is he the splashiest hire, or the best hire? I dunno probably not. But how anyone could be thrilled with O and disappointed if Gundy was chosen is beyond me

We'll this is definitely part of our frustration. Alleva played the game like a little bratty kid.
But to your question...there are many coaches that have way more experience than O. And they would have made much more sense.
Chip kelly
Fleck
Fuentes
Mullen
Gundy
Fedora
All Our 5 times more qualofied, and should have been interviewed.

All of these resumes YOU listed are very much preferable to Os resume.
P.s. you're a dumbass
