Gary Patterson. This makes the most sense. You can forget about little Nicky coming back.

I think most Tiger fans would take Saban back in a heartbeat. But anyways,

What is with all the interest in Jack Del Rio?? He is a marginal NFL coach at best but I keep seeing his name pop up in threads as someone that people feel the fan base would like. So I don't say this disrespectfully, but will someone fill me in on what the hell he has done to warrant one of the top jobs in all of college football??

Same for Jon Gruden - what has he done at the college level that I'm missing. I just feel that we need a college coach - not an NFL retread. Gruden did well in the NFL - I'd feel better with him - but Del Rio?? What's the attraction?

If the next coach (assuming there is one) doesn't average 12 wins per season over the next 4 years, I will make it a goal to launch attacks personal and otherwise in every possible venue.

And you should too.

As far As Del Rio goes
Pete Carrol was a marginal NFL coach too and did well at USC..

And he is at least a "Big Name Coach"
It wont happen but hopefully we get a good coach whoever it is.

I like that list of names - Mike Leach is an interesting name that I haven't thought of. We would have offense that's for sure. I kind of like that idea the more I think of it.

Saban would be my top pick too - but I think that's a zero chance. Gruden seems to be waiting on an NFL gig, I like Patterson and Petersen; Fisher just got a raise from Florida State and is doing well there so I don't think he'd leave - Sarkisian hasn't shown me much to like him but that's just my opinion, Pelini can stay in Nebraska, I haven't liked much of what I've seen of him this season, Dan Mullen didn't even sniff at UF so I think he is content at Miss State - and Dooley - hasn't proven enough yet, but again that's my opinion. I really like that Mike Leach idea though - that's a name I haven't seen thrown around a lot.

I like Chris Peterson the most. Hes done all of that with average players. Imagine what he could do at LSU.

I agree Chris Petersen would be by first pick, because of that very reason. Patterson would be my second and amazingly enough, I think Leach would be my third.

I've talked to a low level booster and he told me that Alleva is leaning towards saving a ton of money on getting a head coach by letting the rant call all the plays via the in-game threads.

Gary Patterson would be a great choice. His teams are always well coached and prepared. He would also open a lot of doors to recruiting East Texas.

Jumbo Fisher would be my next choice as long as he would agree to keep Chavis on his staff. He would more than likely bring a few good recruits with him from FL State and he knows how to develop quarterbacks.

"Jumbo" is in his 2nd year at FSU.

Let's just go after Shawn Payton too.

Do people really think Saban would come back? Why the hell would he do that? Why is he on these lists?

And why is it imperative we make coaches "say no" to us? What good does that do? I'm being serious. This boggles my mind.

OK. Just add them to the list with Saban.

You people are deluded.

Someone along the lines of Jerry Stovall or Gerry DiNardo is who we are looking at.
