Former NYG HC Tom Coughlin is interviewing today with the Jacksonville Jaguars, per league sources. Jaguars off and running.

Jeez, as if recycling coaches wasn't bad enough, not they're getting recycled to the same teams they used to coach?

Decent hire for the Jags and Coughlin can live in a nearby Florida retirement community.

Win-Win.

Would be the best hire they have made since the first time they hired him.

so idiotic. Manning may have been carried to those SB victories, but Coughlin was not.

At least he's won 2 super bowls unlike some of these retreads we see.

he was defacto GM during his tenure with jags, i'm sure an important part of his decision

Coughlin had considerable success, this isn't like Norv Turner getting a third crack at a head job

Suprised he still wants to coach, maybe he felt his talents going to waste at Gringott's Wizarding Bank.

Coughlin is a good coach. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have success again in Jacksonville

I would be pissed if I were a jags fan. Go after a hot Coordinator.

Coughlin is getting up there in age which worries me. But I have been a Jags fan since '95, and right now IMO, Jax needs a "military style" coach vs a "players coach". Someone who has a set-way of doing things, and has proven to work in the past.

I'd be okay with Tom Coughlin, but I don't think he's the "home-run" hire. I think the Jags will be interviewing a lot more people than just Coughlin, and I think they'll get it right in the end.

I think Mike Smith would be a better hire.

I agree, but I'm not that confident in Mike Smith. I think he had enough to win it all in ATL but he didn't. But I think he could definitely make the Jags a playoff team.

I think Mike Smith is the front runner for the Jacksonville Jaguars Job. He has a lot of connections to the Jags. He is the DC of the Bucs, whose HC (Dirk Koetter), was the Jags OC while Mike Smith was the HC of the Falcons.
The Jags GM (Dave Caldwell) also worked, and had a great relationship with Mike Smith in ATL.

I meant DC.. but the connection to Jax part did sound better as OC. I still think he's one of the front-runners tho.
