Nope. You do know what I'm referring to, right?

I just think Bobby Petrino is an upgrade for them at head coach over what they had.

The more you guys disparage Petrino, the more obvious that it becomes to me that you are worried.

Don't fool yourselves, we aren't that far behind you now, and with the hiring of Petrino, we may have closed the gap altogether.

Time will tell

I dont even know how good of a coach he is, so I am not scared. He had a good run at Louisville, but we are not talking conference USA here.

Put it this way, I was not wanting him to coach at LSU at any point in time.

No, the real reason Petrino is getting a hard time is because most know him as a POS as a coach. Displaying poor moral choices in an effort for self advancement.

Well done Arkansas....first you guys give us Wal Mart, now we gotta look at that morally void pile of shite once a year.

I'm not even going to take the time to respond to the Hog's comments to my last post.

Simple logic is a bitch sometimes, isn't it.

Honestly though, I'm not one
of the idiots that think we are going to be world-beaters now. I just don' think Nutt was a good coach, and i doubt you do either. Time will tell if Petrino is a good hire. And if he isn't, the world will still turn, God will still be in his heaven, and we will eventually give someone else a shot. At the very least, the complacency in Fayetteville may have finally come to an end

Oh, it appears to these eyes that the SEC has traditionally been a haven for 'morally vile piece(s) of shite.' Saban, Fulmer, Terry Bowden; hell, throw in the Bear for good measure

I'm glad we have finally decided to play along

I don't get all this disrespect towards Arkansas. They did win the SECW last year. Do you guys think that was all because of DMac and they will die out in obscurity after he leaves?

Funny you say that, I was thinking that is just what Atlanta had become since his arrival.

I think Arkansas has the potential to be a better program. Even the talking heads here in Arkansas who drink ALL the kool-aid have said that due to the small population and limited recruits that AR has a very difficult time of being an elite program. I here them all the time say that AR should be a top 15-20 team, win an SEC West title ever 4-5 years, and SEC championship every 8-10 and be in the national title hunt every 10-15 years. I don't think this is unreasonable at all. If Petrino could get an SEC Title within his current contract the natives would be very happy but that in and of itself does not put it in the category that LSU is in and has been in since 2003. LSU is on a very special run right now and wasn't a one year wonder such as Colorada and Ga Tech. Will it continue for LSU? I don't know, but no one should start saying Arkansas could compete for a national championship two times within 4 years, win two SEC titles and play for another. Not even Rick Schaeffer believes that is possible.

sorry doc you have to win the seccg first to even think about getting to the bcs championship game. and the west is going to be tough to win for any team the next few yrs.

You'll get two years and he will be gone.

Arky fan is in a lose-lose situation.

The only way you keep BP for more than two seasons is if he fails to succeed at Arky.

You are screwed either way.

Arkansas fans totally amaze me. You seem to think the win this year symbolized a turn in fortunes or something. Arkansas is not and WILL NOT ever be on the same level as LSU. This is not the 1960's and you are not in the Southwestern Conference anymore . Petrino is not the savior that so many of your fans are crowing about and your recruiting could get worse being that Petrino has to defend his character against some of the best recruiters in the country. It's funny that most sports experts outside the State of Arkansas thought getting rid of Nutt was a bad move and Arkansas had pretty much reached it's realistic potential.

I just don't understand the point of posts like this. You self worth and penis size seems to be tied in to what college football team you root for. I love LSU as much as anybody, but have never felt the overwhelming urge to sit upon my thrown of fandom and look down upon and ridicule other programs. I'd trade you for DocHog, Tigerark.

It's all about perspective. In 1 yr we have gone from Broyles announcing to an alumni group that we are only about 7th or 8th in potential in the SEC to paying for a hired gun( Petrino.) I honestly believe that we have been in danger of sliding PERMANENTLY into oblivion. A slide that Broyles seemed to accept. Now at least we are going to try and compete against you guys. I didn't say beat you, I didn't say win 2 NCs in under 5 yrs; I said 'compete.'

I think we would be blessed to win an SEC title, to be the hunt more often as not, to get to the odd BCS bowl. My God, we play in the friggin' SEC against the best damn college FB programs in the country. I don't expect us to dominate.

I just don't like people that accept mediocrity. I love LSU fans because you guys DEMAND to compete. We used to at Arkansas as well. I'd rather we fight to become like you, than accept some perceived inexorable slide into Old Miss status
