IMO, after Freeze / Kingsbury / Briles, the two coaches I liked were Yurcich and Matt Lubick of Washington.
Want to stick with the "conventional / traditional / multiple" offense? Washington's system is as good as it gets. May as well grab someone who can bring it to LSU.

Pokes fans HATE yurcich. Been terrible at QB evaluation. Gundy tried to replace him twice but both deals fell through. He’s a good guy but has always seemed in over his head.

Seems like a very weird fit for a guy who is a defensive HC.
Odom tried to do the same with Heupel and they never really got along. Nobody was sad when he took the UCF job.

Yeah. But UT needs a shot of something new on the O. Perhaps he sees it as being able to tighten his O a bit.
Pruitt was at bama who scored faster than saban wanted, just cause they were so much better. Perhaps Pruitt thinks he can create the depth on D to handle it. Hope just quick.
