TCU OC Doug Meacham to Tulane imminent??

That's what I'm hearing from Tulane people. TCU's other co-OC just agreed to remain at TCU. So it would make sense to see Meacham leave.

Just doing some research:
He's a Gundy disciple and was on his staff as an assistant a long time.
Was the Co-Offensive Coordinator at Houston for a year, and was the Co-Offensive Coordinator at TCU the past two years, and called all of the plays. TCU had a huge gain in PPG under his playcalling.
Has spent almost his entire coaching career in Oklahoma or Texas.
He's almost 51, has never been a Head Coach.
Everywhere he's been, be it very small schools or big ones, the Offenses have been pretty damn good. He will bring some offense to Tulane, that's for sure.

This is the right type of hire for Tulane, IMO.
However, the other co-OC is the guy getting the attention from UT. Is Tulane really hiring the right guy?

Well, Meacham was the one calling the plays. Not sure what Cumbie's role was or why UT wanted him and not Meacham. Maybe Meacham made it clear he wanted a HC job? I don't know.

Sonny Cumbie is a Former Texas Tech quarterback when Mike Leach was there. He put up some ungodly passing numbers during that time. He is a very decent football mind, and someone I hope LSU would look at coming here if Les Miles was to ever leave.
