Its not like the Saints have given Ryan a ton of defensive talent. There's not much talent on D. Ryan is a top notch D Coordinator. If the saints dont address the talent issue on D the next coordinator will fair even worse.

What does it say about the Saints if Ryan is gone after this year? DC has been a revolving door.

The Saints just don't have talent on the defensive side of the ball. If not for Brees this team wins 2 or 3 games. They need help in a lot of areas.

i don't know if it would be fair to fire Ryan.
outside of Keenan Lewis, the Saints really don't have much consistency in the secondary.
its a passing league so you need guys that can cover.
i think if anything Payton is making some mistakes by using a revolving door at DC the last few years.
all the while... his mainstay buddies keep their jobs as position coaches. It doesn't appear that they are being held accountable.
but for the most part... their drafting hasn't been that good and the only way the can bring in good players is through free agency.
Ex: Jarius Byrd, Keenan Lewis, Curtis Lofton

Yeah, you're right the defense fumbled inside the opponents FG range in OT, too.
You seriously contend that This year's Brees is as good as prior years' Brees?
I suppose it's Rob Ryan's fault that he has absolutely zero talent to work with in the d backfield? Or is that because we have 20% of our salary cap tied up in Brees and Colston and Michael Jenkins scoring defensive TDs for the Eagles? Jean-Baptiste? Great draft pick. And then next year we probably trade up for another WR rather than go get a quality defender.
But yeah, definitely the DC's fault rather than the absolute lack of scoring and horrendous personnel decisions coupled with a little bad luck on the injury front.
Some people just don't understand football, I guess.

This defense is terrible, lol! 2 turnovers already and people really think it's the defense?!?
Posted on 12/7/14 at 6:41 pm to TheFranchise
Well, I think we suck on both sides of the ball. Does that help?

Freeman is so butthurt over Payton it's unreal.

They don't need a rift. Defense sucks so he needs to go.
As bad as the offense looks SP needs to fire himself.

Ryan should be fired within 24 hrs.
Yes, both sides sucked today, but the defense is the worst in the league. Its inexcusable.

They both suck right now so it's a draw

Lack of talent on the roster is bad, players completely lost in a terrible scheme is worse

Sean Payton has been a great coach, Drew Brees has been a great QB, the Saints have been a very good team for several years now. All things move toward their end in this world
