1.) He has twice been asked to remain on staff by new coaches following a transition.
2.)Fisher interviewed for the head coaching position at the University of Alabama at Birmingham after the 2006 season but the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees vetoed the contract offer, sparking some controversy since the same board oversees the flagship campus in Tuscaloosa. He turned down an invitation from Nick Saban to join the coaching staff at the University of Alabama to sign a contract as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Florida State University, where he replaced Jeff, the son of then-Seminoles coach Bobby Bowden.

So if im understanding all this correctly....
Jimbo has been waiting for an opportunity to kick Bama and Saban in the balls.

while all of that is interesting, I'm not sure if it means anything about his current job status, which is what your thread implies.

What it means for you is that Jimbo is coming back to BR to restore the order of LSU at the top of the SEC West.

Restore the order? To when exactly?

Is the title better Draconian? Too bad Coach Finstock is not available.

When Saban left LSU he did not recommend Fisher to take over because he thought he wasn't ready. Hence Miles instead.
