Show cause be damned, the guy is a great DC. Just not needed as a HC.

Was he really a great DC, or did Saban call plays at times and Pruitt was a solid recruiter?

There would be nearly 0 complaints if he is the DC hire.

6-year show cause, starting in July, 2023.

They should give him time served.

If a university hired him before 2029 then he is on probation the first year

Show them video of the 2023 LSU defense and the NCAA will understand the need.

Didn’t Pruitt come to Mark Richt’s house in the middle of the night and try to fight him out in the front yard?

Some school should just go ahead and hire him as an analyst/ coach-in-waiting, though i’m not sure how that would work with the show-cause? Given the current state of affairs (NIL gone wild) the NCAA should really just overturn his punishment.

“A show-cause penalty means a university cannot hire a coach or recruiter without being subjected to penalties during the length of the ban, unless given NCAA approval.”

Pruitt has a six year show cause. That means if a school hires him, he would be suspended for the entirety of his first season on the job. I don't think Pruitt will ever be working in college football again.

Because Muschamp, while an asshat and completely incapable as a HC at the SEC level, can be likable at times. An AD could be convinced that Muschamp could work at his level - say an Arizona State, or an Illinois or something.

Pruitt has the reputation of being even more unlikable, and also has a cloud of NCAA investigation over his head.

I agree that Muschamp is closer to being an HC again than Pruitt is.

He's only 49.

He'll be back as a position coach in 2029

There are reasons schools wont hire him with a show cause. You might want to bone up on those rules. I dont recall the length of his show cause but he has just started it since the ruling wass less than 6 months ago.
