Sounds like a legit up and coming head coach to me.

Those are the types of coaches that win. The ones you don't like and are arrogant as hell.

Whatever. I'm through with this. We have Orgeron now. I'm already used to it. Don't like it, but I can tolerate it.

Losing to Navy is one thing, but SMU?? You have to look at the coaching there...
I honestly wonder about Herman, I don't doubt he may be an arse...

but yea

a-hole coaches get fired all the time, the key to Saban's success isn't him being an a-hole. Just as Miles ultimate downfall wasn't him being a "player's coach".

No, high-end medical software sales, a-hole.

Kids want a shot at going to The League. Herman couldn't promise that shot at Houston. At Texas, it will be a much easier sell.

If he's an a-hole, that will show itself soon enough with the prima donna players in Austin.

Hey, if you're into that sort of thing I'll try to understand

I personally may not get it, but we are all different

No one is saying it is the key but being a 'players coach' is more detrimental

He definitely has that a-hole look in his eyes. But he's also a great coach, so who cares? I also don't believe they celebrated like that.

Ya'll are fricking retarded. This dude won a few games and ya'll are tagging him as one of the best in the business. Give me a fricking break!

I don't understand the Herman hate. It was no secret at the beginning of the year, UT was his first choice...We were a fall back...His a very good up and coming coach...LSU should have had 7 to 10 options at the end of last season; instead we have two outside of our interim coach...piss poor execution...I really hope O works out for us

Every coach in the history of sports has players that love them and players that hate them.

Had heard something similar from a Houston alum. Heard also Herman dropped hammer on existing staff at Texas and then took a harsh line in initial player visits. Basically gtfo if you aren't on board with his way. Something to do with players saying positive things about Charlie. Sounds legit. No plAyer love like O.

Obviously retired but was spurrier considered a players coach? Seemed like he was one of the few who could be successful at a high level.
