They are trying hard to torpedo this deal. I hated the way this came out last night during a game frick ESPN

You can blame Texas if this deal fall through I just hope Herman sees what lengths their boosters will go through to interfere in things pertained to the program.

Honestly if it was a Texas booster I think it did much more harm than good for them for the exact reason you mentioned. They very well may have torpedoed themselves.

If Texas were to beat TCU, any way we meet them in a bowl game?

I would think that it would be more likely to be Herman's agent.

By leaking the info, he drives us into a bidding war with Texas, which him and his client richer.

LSU would gain jack shite by leaking info early. It was either Herman's agent leaking it to let UT know that he's not fricking around, or it was UT boosters who leaked it to try and torpedo this.

Either way, it's a bad look for UT and Herman probably realizes we gain nothing by leaking it early.

Some on pay sites are reporting there is already a binding agreement that relates to him not leveraging Texas for more $.

All UT power boosters who are in a power struggle over their shite show. Some desperately want Herman...and trying to stop Herman to LSU.

Well I find that hard to believe when he is under contract at Houston. I'm no lawyer, but to me it would have to be a gentlemen's hand shake nothing legal or Herman and LSU could be in a bind. Any lawyers up early to comment?

Interesting. It's good for us, if true.

Do you really think Herman would still go to UT after they leak his deal right before he has to coach a game

People were claiming 9d chess last night.

I don't even think it was a scheme by UT, just a booster that got pissed and started running their mouths.

I am not a lawyer but I do negotiate written contracts as part of my job and have done so for 17 years.

Here are a few of my thoughts..

1st: We never enter into any negotiations without some form of a signed nondisclosure/confidentiality agreement in place. Often these have clearly defined penalties in case of a breach of any part of this agreement. In most cases our agreements covers a period of several years after the negotiations are over. This is what makes the "leak" thing puzzling to me. There could (and if "leaked" by anyone in the Herman camp should...) be penalties that take effect as a result.

2nd: Contracts can be signed that include event triggers such as when this occurs then the agreeing parties will do this type of thing. So it is possible, tho I think unlikely, that a signed agreement could be in place that stipulates it does not go into effect until a certain date ( such as Saturday at noon, ext...) and/or if a certain organization (such as Texas Univ...) offered Tom before a certain date then Tom has the latitude to enter into negotiations over a specified time frame. I am not an Alleva fan but I do find it hard to believe he would allow something like this into a contract.
