So as of Wednesday morning, 11/23, this is where we stand?

Jimbo was a smoke screen to snag Herman before Texas was ready to make a decision on strong?
Jimbo talk leads to lack of urgency from UT?
Jimbo backing off?
Scout article: strong might not be done at Texas, LSU after Herman the hardest?
My understanding of how its playing out...
Both parties agreed and created this coup, naming one the unanimous favorite to distract the fanbases and get Herman in power while Jimbo gets a payday.
The powers that be intentionally leaked information to DALSU and LSUTigers9458 knowing they would get it out to the public. These powers did not deny the content of leaks, and even attempted to silence DALSU and LSUTigers9458 to validate them.
DALSU and LSUTigers9458 have now disappeared, and are likely hiding out in an Ecuadorian Embassy trying to continue giving us peices to the puzzle. If anything were to happen to them it would trigger a kill switch releasing all the coaching search documents, including past controversies (last years fiasco).
Brief description of HC canidates:
Jimbo's potential negative is accusations of running a lawless administration: Jameis rape case, among other incidents (QB beats up girl in bar). Possible scandals/cover ups. He is also dealing with the damage caused by a cheating spouse.
His potential positive is he is a proven coach with experience. He has worked with the outgoing administration and won't drastically change things. He may even keep many staff members in place, smooth transition.
Hermans Potential Negative is he is a boom or bust coach, a wildcard. Possibly more worried about his own career rather than seeing things through.
His positive is he is fairly new to coaching and has a unique style unifluenced by years in the miles program. His style scares the old guard (Saban) happy with the current power structure and the swamp that is Birmingham. Also has Potential character flaw of disregarding others' personal space: kisses players... "Just grabs them by the face" and gives them a big kiss when it probably makes them uncomfortable. Could be offensive.
Fun Fact:
Jimbo was at one point (mid 2000s) in competition with Les (the only coach the younger generation has known) to be our leader.
When Jimbo didn't make the final cut he stayed involved in the program and worked under Les. He was involved in offensive posturing for the miles administration, in charge of dealing with foreign programs defense.
Now about a decade later he is a finalist for the top position. Some say "it's his turn." Others are tired of the same old philosophy and want to try something new. We'll see what happens...
Is this how shite actually gets done in regards to regime change in today's world of information overload and lack of privacy? Crazy times...

I just don't think Joe Alleva is smart enough to make this big of a smoke screen. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if we whiffed hard on Jimbo and are now stuck between Gundy and Fedora.
I hate to be that negative guy but after last years fiasco I'm trying not to get my hopes up

I seriously doubt Gundy will ever wear purple and gold.
ETA: I mean this as a complement to LSU not a slight. I also dont see a man like Coach Aranda taking orders from a guy like Gundy.

I completely agree.
I was just wondering if the theory posted last night that I put at the top of OP is plausible. Then tried to have a little fun with how complex and deep we are making this coaching search out to be using a little PT board conspiracy.
Maybe better suited for the PT board

If we hire Herman this place will explode.

Everyone just needs to start accepting that it's jimbo and he is coming.

I'll take Herman or Jimbo with no complaint at all
The other options are far worse

I agree, I prefer Herman but will gladly take Jimbo

I agree with you on this one. I would like to have him if our first choices don't work out, but I don't see it happening.

You put a whole lot of effort into this at 430AM..

Took about 5 minutes, being a little early for work is one of the most uneventful times of the day.

I smell the whack hammer coming, as soon as Chicken has his morning coffee.

If we don't get Jimbo or Herman, Alleva needs to be fired.

Texas may frick this up even worse than LSU, so we could end up with Herman anyway. If not, it's probably going to be O. And we'll be fed the "this is what we hoped for from the beginning" line.
