If, and it is a big IF, Herman beats Louisville tomorrow, watch his stock on this board skyrocket.

He passed up South Carolina, rightfully so but because of being such a rebuild..
Texas didn't even make a bowl game last season and their D is down right atrocious

LSU is built much more to win now

Seems like more pressure at Texas too

Really hope he wants and comes here instead. I think he's perfect to scheme with a bye to get past teams like Alabama. LSU will win enough games on talent alone.

So convincing wins against Fla and A&M plus a win in the sugar Bowl against maybe Oklahoma wouldn't do it for O?
If not, then he was never under consideration.

I feel like we could probably get away with paying about $1m less for Herman, I personally don't think his resume demands any more than 5.5 max with performance bonuses.

I agree plus Herman may be easier to attain than a Fisher

People love to knock Herman for certain games but even Saban had bad losses in his first stint.. it's more impressive what he's done with time to prep vs far superior teams.

Houston really isn't that good to begin with.. and agree they have checked out.

LSU will win those games Houston might struggle with. We need a great x and o guy to get to elite levels IMO. Hiring OC is a far more risk for an LSU program built to win now. I see top OC hires start out strong but fall off fast. I remember LSU fans wanting Enos from Arky just this season.. now look at them lol.

Yes big if but then his price just goes up again

That's why I really wasn't concerned with what Houston did this season. It's actually been better they have lost.

Floridas whole team is injured and A&M is without their starting QB.

If O wins out he will have beaten SEC teams with a combined 20 conference losses and that's only if they do not lose anymore SEC games other than to LSU, so that number will be higher. His other win is 5-5 Southern Miss.. I'm sorry but that's not saying a lot. In his stint as a interim HC here and at USC, he has beaten the bad teams and lost to the good teams.. with the exception of Stanford, he did win that one.

It is O's job to lose. If he wins the next 2 games he has it, LSU is in contact with Fisher and a couple of other coaches as back plans.

It seems like a long time just day to day with this coaching stuff

I just really hate the idea of hiring basically another Miles that depends so much on coordinator hires. LSU has shown with Miles and now the interim even an avg coach can win enough games while established.,imagine an above avg coach who can actually Scheme

LSU while established will recruit itself and winning breeds succcess which attracts the best, period.

The "housing stipend" is for the side piece, right?
