Shouldn't we try to hire an OC that will stay long term instead of Kiffin?

Even if we hire Kiffin, he will probably be gone after a year or two having been lured into a head coaching gig. Then Coach O and the offense has to start over with a new guy/scheme. Wouldn't it make more sense to think long term for filling the OC position?

Cam Cameron is available. Long term = someone nobody else wants.

Yeah. I'd rather not have to have the offense start from scratch after just one year.

I'd rather a guy like Helfrich who is still a few years away from another HC gig.

except that the entire premise of O's "plan" is to have an ever rotating OC and DC

I hate this attitude. Hire the best guy. If he bolts for a better job it probably means he did a kickass job here.

Another unemployed OC.

Just like Cam.

This board feels like groundhog day sometimes. This is what happens when you hire a HC that requires 2 of the best Coordinators. They will likely look to become HC's in the near future.

You do that when you have a HC that can stand on his own. Not a airboat captain who must have best coordinators money can buy to be successful

Yeah. Let's hire a coordinator that has no upward movement and that nobody wants so that they can stay a long time.

Makes sense. It's worked well after Jimbo left the OC job for the coach in waiting position at Florida State.

the way to do it is fine the best of the best corrdinators and pay them a premium that the mid major schools cannot afford to pay. That way you can keep them till a major school comes to pluck them. It's a win win because those jobs don't come around every year.

Nah. The rant doesnt care about offensive continuity. Most want Kiffin for 1 year so we can be doing the same thing we are doing now this time next year.... Looking for a new offensive coordinator.

Would you rather have one night with a 10 or a lifetime with a 5?

Why, Saban has had 4 in ten years. The goal is having one for the time that works I. The system.
