That article from 1995 has this sentence -

quote:

Moeller, 54, was suspended with pay Monday from his $130,000-a-year job.

The Michigan head coach "only" made $130,000 just 19 short years ago.

Man, how times have changed.

what's really funny is that Les Miles and Lloyd Carr are basically the same exact football coach.

You don't know whether the rumor is true or not. Just because it's a rumor doesn't mean it's false. There's simply not enough to go on either way.

quote:

Interesting, isn't it, that the rumor happened to surface just at the time Carr retired and Les was the logical choice for the job?

Not really. The rumor is irrelevant until such a time that Miles' character is under examination, such as when he's a potential hire. So it's not coincidental that it came out then at all.

He's an average coach. He's not worth his salary. I wouldn't go after him either.

I mean I sort of agree. It looks pretty obvious to me he would be an 8-4 type of coach at Michigan

huh, he is doing that in the SEC as his WORST years.

Michigan gets talent, Miles can recruit and add to that, Michigan plays 7 easy wins a year. If he splits the others he is a 10 win a season guy. You do that and beat OSU up there and you are a God.

Im just playing the percentages man. He averages right at 4 losses a season as a head coach. Add that to the fact that he is rebuilding at UM, i think 8-4 is the type of coach he would be. I think that is pretty level headed thinking

and that would be an improvement for Michigan right now. Consistently winning 8 games would result in accidentally winning 9, 10, even 11 every once in a while. That would basically put him on par with their god, Bo.

Gary Moeller knows the issue.

There are two rumors. One, Miles being the good guy, the other with Miles being the bad guy.

How is he an average coach??. His championships aren't average his winning record isn't average. He had the greatest regular season in the history of college football and that's not average. So if you agree that he's an average coach I just proved you wrong with facts.

Lloyd Carr. Rumor is they don't care for each other at all. This is rumor. I don't profess to know anything.
