I'm not saying the guy hasn't forgotten more about Football than I've ever known.


But that doesn't make him an expert on College coaching hires.

Agree. Could easily substitute Aranda for Napier in that tweet. Both are highly competent smart coaches with high ceilings IMO.

frick Napier. We don't hire G5 coaches with no conference titles to their name.

I'd take Napier over riley at this point. Riley was my favorite until I started digging. I think he's at his apex right now, and can't win a playoff game.

What’s the benefit of these great relationships with HS coaches when you’re recruiting at our level of player? There was a time when they kind of controlled access and had a lot of influence but that’s not the case anymore.

These kinds of things are just stupid. You can find someone saying this about any of the potential candidates out there. It doesn’t make it true.

The fact is, we could hire Napier and he could go on to build a dynasty that makes Saban’s look like shite or we could hire Napier and he could totally destroy the program beyond repair for decades. Plenty of hires looked good on paper and ended in complete disaster. Hell, Dan Mullen looked like a slam dunk hire for Florida. He had been everything most of us are currently wanting out of this hire.
