Sadly, no coach will admit contact with LSU in near future

As much as we would all love it if Tom Herman left Houston tomorrow to come in and call plays next week, any coach at this point in the season will deny LSU discussions out of fairness to their own teams as to prevent distractions. Ed O will have a chance to turn this ship around, and if we win out and beat Bama, I have no problem with him here with a good OC. Sadly, we will not know for two more months (unless DALSU comes back with his 3 AM updates 
). Contrary to what these other coaches say, I do think they may have interest in the job.
Stanford's Shaw will not leave, however. As great as LSU is, Stanford is one of the best schools in the country. He's not in my top 5 anyway

I think Shaw would be in culture shock coming from a Stanford to LSU.

Realistically, when do you think the earliest we will hear something? If Herman announces we won't know until Houston's bowl game, i would think, assuming they don't go to the playoffs. I guess i am asking, in recent coaching hires what's the earliest a coach has announced?

I get what you're saying as a fan, but no coach with any dignity and respect would comment on this during the season, and we don't want a coach that would do a thing like that. We'll just have to be patient and let things play out.

I think we all know there wont be hire till the end of the season.
No coach is going to bail on their team in the middle of the year.
