Is what ESPN has described what Petrino did to the Falcons.

Maybe they can get off our backs now.

Although I guess Petrino gets the Vick excuse, so I can endure another year of jabs from ESPN.

@ least Petrino got right down to the point and didn't lie for the whole season. He only lied for 13 weeks of it.

After the Vick situation, any coach would be justified in leaving that mess

"Sabaned" - not being man enough to deal with a tough situation, leaving a team in shambles, lying repeatedly about your intentions...

The funny thing is everyone understands exactly what espn means using that term.

Is it true that he told his assistant coaches at Miami that he was leaving to go to Bama over the phone, after he had called them all into a conference room at the Dolphin HQ? Oh, and that he was not taking any with him?

Tell me that is not true.

How can any coach still play the "I didn't know it would be so different in the NFL" card any more. So many coaches have done it, and the systemic differences in the two levels (can't actively recruit players that fit your system, free agency, dealing with prima donna athletes) are patently obvious to anyone that follows both college and professional football. Also, Louisville should be the most pissed in this case. Atlanta needs to totally rebuild anyway, may as well do it with a new coach too.
