Saban has zero credibility. I doubt he wants to give the media more reason to eviscerate him after another move.

would not matter, I think it would reinforce his leaving.

Saban has never been one to defend, or speak out on anything- he has pretty much done as he pleases, and no reason that behavior will change now...

Saban and Sexton are stoking this into a fire.

They could have put this out days ago.

Sexton started this 2 years ago - in the run up to 1/9/2012. Mack has survived 2 more seasons, but now the reckoning has come.

If past performance is any indication, bet the farm on North Texas to pull an upset next August in Austin.

Not really. This is just the latest round of rumors. I dont think he knows specifically about this round of rumors but he is aware of he overall general Saban to Texas rumor that has been prominent for 3 solid years.

I think Mack Brown stepping down really ups the ante though.

I wouldn't feel comfortable if I were Alabama. I'm not trying to flame you guys but Saban is bigger than any one school or job. The guy has no real loyalties.

Yea, one thing about Saban is he doesn't want to be put in a position where he has to lie publicly again. The last time it really hurt his brand. It took him winning the NC to get over the PR disaster in Miami.

Not his style and never will be.

Texas is only his next conquest/challenge and after Texas become old and stale, it's on to the next highest bidding sleeping giant that has enough desperation and deep enough pockets to hand over the kings ransom he charges for his services. Not saying he's only in it for the money by any means (but it sure as hell helps). Just that he's never satisfied and always wants more and it's only a matter of time before it happens to Texas.

Except that if he stays 5 or 6 years at Texas - he really will be too old to start over.

And nobody but the NFL will be able to afford him at that point.

And that won't happen.

Which is why I've thought this was it since Sexton leaked what it would take - 2 years ago. You have to hand it to them - they played a long game - and played it well.

Why? His cross state rival is in the National Champ game, & Saban is the only thing people want to talk about.

Why? If he's not leaving for Texas, there's a 99% chance that he's doing this just to get a raise. Holding a press conference wouldn't make any sense. He would lose all leverage in the negotiations.

This could be all about a raise.

I don't think anyone knows for sure except Saban and Sexton.
