Stinks of desperation. That dude has been a cancer pretty much everywhere he's been.

You do realize Locksley was the guy that helped steer a lot of the Zook recruits to UF that helped Meyer win the 06 title right?

This is a huge boost for UF recruiting.

McElwain doesn't need elite talent to win the East, he has proven that 2 straight years

I kinda disagree with this overall point, although of course the black and white facts are accurate.

UF did win the east this year but look at their competition:

-UGA with a first time ever H
-SC with a new head coach, and muschamp at that
-UT with butch jones
-Missouri is in shambles from what they were just 2 years ago
-UK and VU, although certainly improved, are still UK and VU.

UF just happened to the tallest midget this year. While Mcelwain did what needed to be done to win the east, it's almost certain it won't be gift wrapped like it was this year. Missouri is going to continue to flounder for a while, but UK and VU are at least semi-respectable now unlike their old selves, UGA is reloading, SC's recruiting and defense should improve and they have a fantastic QB, and who knows what UT will do.

That was great ten years ago. Since then he's been suspended for punching an assistant coach, been sued for sexual harassment, and his O was terrible at Maryland. Did he even have better offers than taking a $45,000 a year job at Bama?

I'm glad -- UF needs to do everything they can to keep Mac at UF for as long as possible

Of course. His recruiting connections in the DMV are priceless.

Those analyst positions under Saban are often used to rebuild a career. Mike Groh, Billy Napier, Tosh Lupoi, Mike Locksley, Eric Kiseau, and Steve Sarkisian are a few that have used them to their advantage.

UF did win the east this year but look at their only real competition:

-UGA with a first time ever H (we beat UG with any coach) 22 of last 27
-UT with butch jones (Fluke loss this year but still have won 11 of 12)

So in summary, UF will continue to dominate the SEC East next year because all of the rest of you suck.

Aazaar Abdul-Rahim? He's also a former Alabama assistant. He was assistant director of player personnel. Initially hired as a defensive analyst by Saban.

Is there any concern among Florida fans that once Muschamp's defense is gone, that McElwain is gonna struggle? He's been pretty terrible at his supposed expertise so far.

I still see Oregeron getting fired first. I just don't see Mac lasting very long if he can't get the offense turned around.

He has been HC what? Two Years?

Got to the Title game both years, right?

That does not seem that bad to me.

GA will be competing soon, but honestly, they have been competing most years, just falling a bit short. Looks like their recruiting might flip that.

But outside of GA, who is really going to compete with FL in the SEC East?

Noone complained when he had a QB who could complete a 15 yard pass. We've had nothing but band aids since and we wont know until next yr when we actually see one of his QBs on the field how he does as a Qb developer.

Overall the offense has been built from the ground up since Mac arrived. Look at it now, 1 Jr OT and TE, the rest are Macs guys
