My question is this Is RR gone?
My guess is that RR is gone. Otherwise, it makes no sense, especially from a recruiting standpoint, not to announce he is coming back.
Brandon, if he is half as smart as advertised, already has someone or is in negotiations with someone through back channels. This will be his first big hire. I doubt he screws it up.
It would also not surprise me to find out that it is not Harbaugh or Miles. A certain head coach in Texas with a top notch defense year in and year out would likely get a long look from UM.

I'd start a thread, but it would just get whacked (and this may too) ---- Miles is leaving...it's already a done deal and has been so for a couple of weeks now.
eta: there's quite a bit of detail involved, but I can't really go there. sorry.

as much as i want to believe this i just can't see it happening. i think they are going to go balls to the wall for harbaugh before even sniffing miles, and even then i think he's not very high up on the their list.
You might be right, but if you are comparing resume's LES MILES is head and shoulders above Harbaugh
Miles is 61-17 in the SEC! MNC coach... 4-1 in bowls and lands top 5 classes every year...
What has Harbaugh won? Nothing yet..
Is he an up and coming star? Absolutely.. But Miles would be a safer choice...
Plus the LSU job pressure is much greater than at Stanford..
Can Harbaugh handle the big stage where winning is expected? With Miles at least you know the answer to that question

I am placing ZERO stock in Les Miles leaving. Why jump in the gutter when you are riding in a limo?
LSU is lined up to be very competitive in the most competitive Division in the most competitive Conference in College Football.
Miles is not walking away from LSU. He can be employed here for as long as he wants it. At MI he will be RR part Deux, Canned in 3 years for lack of production.
MI and the Big 10 is not going to pull the top Southern Recruits and play on par with the upper tier of the SEC ever again. Everyone knows it.
LSU can land a top 10 class every other year by recruiting Louisiana kids. MI can't do that.
In the end, this is another "Reporter" trying to throw it out there "first".

I think the "if offered" is the key. I think Ricky Bustle will take the Miami job if offered. You read it here first.

RIVALS, ESPN blah blah blah blah
Has any other program in the country had to endure more "Is the HC gonna leave" questions than LSU in the last 10 years.
I think not.
ITS A CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU and if not its just wishful thinking on the part of many.
We are on the verge of a great recruiting class RIVALS and ESPN can bleaux me.

He has not earned that, nor probably ever will. This year helped him out but his repeated mistakes that a middle school coach wouldn't even make combined with another 2008 season and chances are he'd be gone.

nothing is final until ZeeDustin weighs in on this.

Tommy Deanhart or something just said Miles is headed to Michigan despite buyout.

will you go away if Miles leaves?
Posted on 11/30/10 at 10:39 am to Choctaw
the buyout will be divied up like the revenues from the casinos on indian reservations. If you are a season ticket holder you will get a small percentage. if you have purchased an LSU shirt at Wal Marks, you will get a microscopic percentage.
