You've lost your mind or just choosing to not be honest if you don't thing Cam newton and this yr's au offense isnt the reason for the boost in Malzahn's stock.

OMG a coach does good with good players! Dan Mullens never did crap without Tim Tebow and he is a terrible coach. (Actually, I bet he's high on your board isn't he?)

Seriously, go look at what he did with Todd last year. Look at Tulsa, because that is f'n impressive. He's a decent recruiter and can do big offensive things. I really forsee him being the next college version of Sean Payton or Urben Meyer. Basically a better Dan Mullens.

I can understand you wanting a guy with head coaching experience, but your argument is not a good one because he's done great everywhere he has been.

Gary Patterson would be a big win, IMHO.

ould you guys rather bring in a cfb coach or professional? (that could mean head or position or corrdinatiors)

College.

Simply for the fact that most pro coaches would be at the back end of their career and probably wouldn't put in the time that a young coach would.

I laugh and cringe when some of you bring up malazahn. seriously? This guy was coaching hs football 5 yrs ago, without cam newton nobody even knows who this guy is.

In five years as a college football coordinator, Malzahn has never had an offense outside the top 20.

Newton was enough to push the offense to the top.

He wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't be upset if he was ultimately chosen.

On the college side, Id be ok with tcu guy, pelini, and whoever is considered to be the best recruiter in the country.

Patterson would be great; I'm just not sure he'd leave TCU

Pelini would be a bad hire, IMO. And he's a terrible recruiter.
