His Director of Player Personnel last year at WMU is for sure, he's a family friend of mine.

Don't know about staff but his best recruits are following. He flipped 6 commits from WMU to Minnesota today. I'm sure that will go over well in Kalamazoo.

Did they expect anything different? They should be building him a statue right now for what he did for that program

The guy has one of the most consistently positive attitudes you'll ever come across and people still dislike him. I put them under the jelly column.

PJ Fleck is very easy to like after hearing him speak. He turns Minnesota around and the job offers will really come.

hes a nutcase, but the Big X west division is garbage, so if this puts life into Minnesota and makes that division watchable, then im all for it.

At least now it makes me mildly more interested in the 11am Big X game with the chick announcer. Mildly...

I don't understand the hate

i could never play for a guy like PJ Fleck, but he understands what it takes to build a program. recruiting, recruiting, recruiting, and that schtick works in recruiting (his results at WMU were ridiculous). he's a program/morale builder type of coach

even though his bullshite would make me laugh, i give him respect that it seems to work in recruiting

yeah no fricking shite

PJ had a lot of "firsts" for WMU, culminating in a fricking cotton bowl appearance

they're likely never going to reach that place again

Just because he talks like that, does not mean he's going to "bomb so hard."

This right here.

If he does well, the offers will start to come flying in for him. And he is not under terrible pressure at Minn to make some immediate turnaround. Honestly, it is not like he is in a brutal conference division. If he can beat just a few teams, he might be looking at the BIG conference game.

Yea, his track record as a head coach say he will be very successful. Obviously he recruits very well and can coach. Not sure how anyone could say he's gonna bomb

Question I have and haven't gotten a answer is when it comes to becoming " elite" how will his routine work against Franklin, Harbaugh and Meyer?

He's got an uphill battle there, no doubt. He has stepped up in competition. I'm not sure what your point is beyond that? Are you suggesting he's gonna suddenly not be a good recruiter or coach? That he won't have success?

I'm the same. That BS speech he gave before the Cotton Bowl had me rolling my eyes. Cheesy one-liners and speeches never did it for me. You didn't have to beg me to motivate me to play hard or care. That could be all show though, because his teams play hard on the field. He did a good job at WMU.

Nevermind the fact that he's turned around a program that's historically terrible and brought them to the Cotton Bowl.

You're kinda dumb.
