Petrino should be a solid #3 choice for LSU, maybe even #2

People put him in the Briles category but Petrino is younger, a better scheme fit for LSU, and what he did was way less bad

He got Louisville into the Top 5 twice and got to a BCS bowl at freaking Arkansas. I can't imagine he's not on his best behavior still after the motorcycle incident

So wouldhe bring a co-ed with him or just ditch her and hold open try outs when he get in town on his motorcycle?

Why? He could easily think just don't get caught this time and if I do I'll just job hop to the top again.

May be the best coach out there. Knows the SEC for recruiting and hasn't really won anything yet. With the right staff, could be scary with LA talent. Just have to accept his past...

Agree.
The difference between him and Sabin's Candy was an accident!

I personally don't care where the head coach lays pipe. I just want a non-a-hole winner, negotiable on the a-hole part.

If you wanted the "nice" guy you should have kept Miles. There is no football reason not to hire this guy.

I happen to love the thought of bobby p as well. But you have to be ok with his baggage:

-banging co-Ed. Do not care.
-got said co-Ed a job without going through proper channels at a state run school. Illegal. I can even turn a blind eye to this.
-without knowing the details....certain HS coaches do not allow bobby on their campus for the way he pulled a scholarships. I THINK that I can look past this IF it never happens again. This cannot happen and be successful in the long run.

Just win baby!!!

Will never coach at LSU. We looked at hiring him instead of Les, admin hate him. Go look up Skip's interview.

Different admin, and Skip's knock against him was his interest in NFL. Petrino wouldn't rule it out and Skip was tired of the NFL Saban drama!

Can promise now that NFL is not a factor!

power brokers are all the same, and per Skip's interview he didnt have final say. AD makes the pick after its cleared. the BoS vote is just a formality, obviously a name would never be submitted that would get rejected. if you think Alleva has more power now than Skip had as AD then I just dont know what to tell ya.

Without the baggage, he'd be a top 5 coach and already under a huge contract. I think he's a good fall-back plan if our top choices dont pan out. Sure he's a turd, but he's a turd that can light up the scoreboard.

He's never going to leave Louisville and in the 0.01% chance he left for LSU, you can kiss all our 4 and 5 star in state recruits goodbye, because he is a shitty recruiter and even shittier person.

frick this board is retarded

If i was the one doing the hiring, and my own job depended on getting a coach who would win at LSU, Petrino would be in my top 3.

but what's his salary compared to others we would throw money at? He might take less of a salary to offset the buy-out.

No way. No to him and Art Briles. These guys playing defense is an accident when it happens and all offense no defense does not win the West. Plus both are shitheads.
