No, if he *really* never wanted to go back to ATL, he shoulda taken the Ole Miss job when he had the chance.

I will grant him this much and this much only. I know what it's like to move from a smaller town to the bright lights and big city and realize it isn't what I really wanted. I moved back home as soon as I could. Not saying Fayetville is home for Petrino, because he appears to be a nomad, but he prolly realized the ATL was more than he could take.

Now, all that being said, I can't wait for the first time for LSU to punk him and his Arky team next year in Fayetville (or Little Rock, wherever they decide to play.)

the spread isn't a pass offense, it's a balanced offense...anything that brings balance will work in the SEC

The losing and lack of a decent QB probably didn't help either. Let's face it, many of these coaches that have come back to college have found out that controlling college kids is easier than controlling full grown adults that make as much if not more money than they do. Also, by in large, the media in the larger markets are more harsh than college towns.

Also, if you aren't winning in the pros, you get much more criticism overall. In short, if Petrino had a 9-4 record and a decent QB right now, he would still be in Atlanta.

no i do get it, guy is insenuating that rantards aren't open to new types of offenses working in the SEC....rantards suggested that the spread wouldn't work in the SEC, but it has been an enormouse success....and by me saying that a pass offense wouldnt work in the SEC is saying the same thing....but logic tells me that a pass offense wont work in the SEC unless you have some balance...also, Big East DB's are garbage, couldnt hold a candle to SEC pass defenses

WHat do you think he walked into in Arkansas. They weren't losers but they dont have a quarterback. Casey Dick is pretty bad although he did look better this year. I just dont see him fitting into Petrino's offense. Also if both Mcfadden and Jones go Petrino could be in for a long year.

I would have walked too if my starting QB went to the pokey before I even played a game.

I would much rather live in Fayetteville than Atlanta. Atlanta is a shithole.
