The contract is 5 years, $18 million plus incentives. So $3.6 million/year. That makes him the highest paid coach in the Pac-12 apparently.
As known, the guy is not all about money.

Chris Petersen will never leave the Pacific Northwest!
Broncos fans always said on their boards that if CP ever left, it would be for Oregon or Washington. They were right.
He has a sick son, and UW has great medical facilities. He cares more about his family than making money, and you cannot fault him for that. He'll have UW competing for PAC 12 and national titles every year.
Nice hire UW!

Just read he was making roughly a cool 2 mil at BSU. That is a lot of cheese in Idaho!

Washington is a pretty great job if you ask me.

I think UW will probably come out ahead. I think Sark was just an average coach at UW because he had five years, and even this year players were out of position way too often. We were also last, or just about last (don't know the final stats) in PENALTIES! This has been a CONTINUOUS PROBLEM--not just this year. That's coaching, in large part.
Some of you already know this, but for those who don't, the UW AD is an LSU and Catholic High (B.R.) alum. He came up here with Emmert as his right-hand man and was an administrator before moving to the athletic department just before Emmert left.
From the Seattle Times today (note his youngest son was apparently the one with health problems, but is fully recovered):
— Good insights from ESPN.com’s Ivan Maisel on why the timing was right for Petersen to leave Boise. Maisel’s bullet points:
• The transition from the BCS to the College Football Playoff will make it more difficult for programs such as Boise State to reach the top of the sport.
• As he continued to stay at Boise State, and the Broncos continued to average 12 wins a season, a small program with limited resources strained to keep him. During Petersen’s tenure, Boise State expanded Bronco Stadium from 30,000 to 37,000 seats, which is still only the 84th biggest in the nation. Yet Petersen made $2.1 million this season, and the disparity between his salary and his environs gnawed at him.
• His older son Jack is now in college. His younger son Sam, whose health issues as a small boy helped keep Petersen in Boise, not only fully recovered, but will start high school next year. It’s a good time to make the transition.

Wait until Kiffin and Bebe end up
I don't see Kiffin getting a decent head coaching job anywhere- he will likely end up at a very small university, or just become an OC. Remember, he still carries a lot of stench with him, just like Yaw yaw does, but I think this time, Kiffin would be under O...
