I think that with the dreadful luck of so called "lame duck" coordinators in the past, it is quite a risk to have Pelini sticking around for the national championship game. The most notable and recent example of how this can so easily backfire was Mark Richt and Florida St a few years ago. Richt was the offensive coordinator for the high powered Seminole offense and had already accepted the head coaching job at Georgia. In the title game, FSU did not put up a touchdown against Oklahoma. To win a national title, you need complete focus from everybody. That is impossible to accomplish when your defensive coordinator is spending half of his time halfway across the country at another school.

I aggree with you. Not just in the Pelini case coming to Nebraska but in all cases. It doesn't matter if it is LSU, Nebraska, Georigia who or whereever there is no accountablility for thier actions. If it does not work out they will not be around to answer for what went wrong.

If you take another job somewhere else - thanks for the memories and we will see ya.

I know the players in these instances always want their coach to lead them one more time but coaches especially on the college level are suppose to be teachers and how often have we been told "Ya can't have your cake and eat it too" These coaches want to go be a head coach and coach at a different school - then go and be done with it.

Nothing against Bo and what he did to help get us here, but he needs to move on to Nebraska. We need someone full time to game plan for the biggest game in 4 years, not a part time DC who is also trying to hire his own staff at Nebraska.

Didn't Urban Meyer hang around and get Utah a win in his last game?

I really feel that this guy would blow us out if he coaches. His defensive schemes are just a joke. Not LSU calibre.

At his introductory news conference Sunday in Lincoln, Pelini said he would require Osborne’s blessing before agreeing to work for LSU leading up to and through the national championship game.

All my focus right now is putting a staff together and recruiting for Nebraska,” Pelini said. “That’s what I’m worried about right now.”

College coaches game plans take all of 2 days to come up with. If there is a dead period of a week or two, that would give Pelini plenty of time to come up with a scheme. I would imagine that LSU winning the game with Pelini as DC would do nothing but help out his new program, so I would imagine that he would want to win just as bad as anyone else.

I am sure if Bo coached and we won the NC that would certainly help his recruiting for Nebraska.

You guys are a bunch of f*cking ingrates. You don't DESERVE to have Bo on your sidelines steering your stellar Defense, you LOSERS.

I will still root for you in your game, because of Bo, but in general you have a much higher percentage of inbred FB morons per capita on this board than any I've ever seen.

I'm really mixed on this one so I'm putting my faith in Glenn Dorsey.

I hope a healthy, motivated Glenn Dorsey will trump a lame duck Pelini.

BTW - Lame Duck Pelini is also a new sandwich offered at Fazoli's. Its really good if you order it with extra mariana sauce and get the bun toasted.
