No one was more disappointed than I after the Arkansas game. However, our intense, hard charging defensive coordinator has produced results at LSU. Currently (keep in mind, while playing in the most athletically gifted conference in the country) LSU is ranked nationally in every major defensive statistical category. Examples:

Rushing Defense: 14
Pass Efficiency Defense: 3
Total Defense: 3
Scoring Defense: 22 (Skewed because of the 22 points in OT against Arkansas, should be about 10 or 12)
Pass Defense: 6

A little disappointing is Sacks: 26, but that's a minor criticism on the heels of the other stats, particularly total defense.

It should be heartening that our program has produced the next head coach at Nebraska, Michigan and possibly Florida State in the next few years. Let's hire some guys just as good or better, not bash the guys who have coached guys up and won games for us. I've never understood the cannibalistic instincts of LSU fans.

Split the year and look at the stats.

Pellini reminds me a LOT of Dinardo and Tepper in that he refuses to learn from bad games. He keeps doing the same thing expecting different results.

Bo's performance the last two weekends has been unexcusable. He is one of the highest paid coordinators in America, and he has not earned his money. Sorry, he deserves to be bashed to the extreme.

its amazing how rantards were sucking his balls througout most of the season...and now they blaming him for the ARK loss which i think is not his fault at all (except for 4th down play)

he had a good game plan...players didn't make the plays

So Bo wasn't the DC at the beginning of the year? Against ND in the Sugar Bowl? Against the U two years ago?

The ability to gameplan against some opponents and not others does not a good coordinator make.

1000 yards in 2 games.

Think about that.

We gave up 1000 yards in 2 games.

By your reasoning, no coach could ever be bashed because you can find good performances amongst bad coaches.

Even Miles said we didn't gameplan for Shaeffer at Ole Miss. How do you not have an alternative plan? And even if you don't, make the adjustments at half time.

Oh and FYI, how do you explain Lou Tepper's D in the Indy Bowl and his D thereafter?

JV - did you guys have any injuries from the beginning of the season until those last two games, or was your D pretty much healthy and whole?

Also, what was the competition level of those first few games compared to Ole Miss and AR?

Pelini has known he was Nebraska's next head coach for several weeks. My problem is that given the inexplicable defensive letdowns we've had and crappy calls one could make the argument Pelini has already left us.

That's what pisses me off. He goes a courtin' and fricks our national championship away.

Thats because we were winning, if we had managed to lose those close games this would have started long ago because starting with the South Carolina game we gave up 25 pts per game and 354 yds per game and yes that excludes overtimes!

Sorry.. NO.. The guy is horrible.. Given some of the best athletes in the country he puts up stats against teams that run standard offensive schemes. Against the Spread offense which is the future he may very well be one of the WORST DCs in the country. Any team that had either a spread offense to a mobile QB torched LSU under Pelini. From Arizona State to Arkansas. All that and making one of the worst play calls I have ever seen in my life when the team and his players needed him he FAILED miserably. I personally think its sad that we lose him to a HC position rather than him getting fired which is what I believe he deserves.

I agree. Bo is an assistant from LSU about to be a FRACKIN HEAD COACH AT NEBRASKA possibily.

I wish people would note but Jimbo best bets were LA Tech and UAB last year. This is quite rare and LSU fans should putting it as a feather in their cap for the future of the program.

Amen. If he didn't have his heart in our program, he wasn't able to give us 100%. We were #1 in the BCS, and he sold us out.

"The guy is horrible."

This is the same guy that led your defense on teams finishing #3 and #5 over the last two years, and possibly in the top five again this year.

What more do you guys want?
