Well, I guess LSU's DL is just that much better than AL's, b/c in the game I witnessed, each QB completed one long pass, otherwise I saw 2 QBs that couldn't throw accurately on even short passes, but one of those guys was able to move the chains w his feet.

The 4th Q began scoreless. Hurts threw ONE pass in that Q and it was incomplete. The only meaningful yards gained were by Hurts on the ground. After 3.5 Qs of being one man up at the point of attack, AL FINALLY scored.

If LSU had a viable rushing option at QB, AL would have suffered the same fate, and outside of getting away w holding, the OLs were negligible. Man for man, AL's depth and talent on the OL is better, but on that night, it was nothing a mobile QB could not have overcome. In other words, if Etling could run a 4.4 and take a hit, we wouldn't be talking about your OL.

Any new updates now that you said Kiffin is out? You think Sark is next man up? Any chance he could bring Tosh Lupoi with him from Bama?

They can, but local talent dictates otherwise. That is why we have so many mixed match QBs. All of LSU' s local QBs are Dual threat playing in a system that doesn't fit.

I posted this last night, looking for a response from you. Perhaps you didn't see it.

I believe if it is not Kiffin or Sark, it will be a Briles tree guy, not just because the offense but because of Texas recruiting. Our big Texas recruiter BDP was shown the door.

Seems like Sterlin Gilbert would fit the profile. Plus, he's available.

Is he a serious candidate?

Im real high on him. He has been mentioned. I don't know if he is next.

Unlike the HC search my friend was directly involved. For OC purposes, he is in the loop but not directly involved.

your friend should have taken one for the team and held Joe's head under water until the bubbles stopped

Similar to Pj Fleck level. Brought up but not enough to get excited about.

Not saying that won't change.

The constants that I'm hearing is Power Spread with preferably with Texas recruiting ties. That is why I believe it is from Briles Tree.

IMO Gilbert fits that bill. The homerun is Art Briles but everyone knows the baggage.

I was told Helfrich reached out, but I don't see the traction on him based on the constant hiring information I was told.

They could hire Gilbert with one of the Briles as a consultant and that would maybe bring Stidham along as well.

LSU is one of the most profitable programs In The nation. He is doing great in this arena and that is why he is safe for now. He is a very likable guy but he needs a win in the coaching hiring dept. He is also a very nice person. I believe he needs a PR guy like what Herb Vincent use to do. (Herb is my vote for next AD)

I believe JA went with the safer hire in O because an expensive miss would probably be unrecoverable. He took a lot of heat for that Miles contract with the large buyout. Money was never the issue it was the large sum of guaranteed money if that coach failed.

He wanted Miles gone last year but was overruled.

I could see a Gilbert / Kendal CO/OC but not Kendal Briles alone.

Interesting stuff on Alleva. Do you have any info on the other spots of the coaching staff such as LB coach and special teams coach?

That would probably be a great idea. I think having a QB like Stidham come along maybe with the Briles would also help LSU next year.

You have no idea how much I've paid attention to LSU games in the past 5 years and well beyond, specifically the Alabama games.

I can break down film w the best of them and hold my own, brother.

Please enlighten me on how AL's OL superiority was the difference maker in the '12, '14, and '16 contests. I am always willing to learn. You can point to statistics, personnel, and/or specific game times to demonstrate. Maybe even include the '11 game in Tuscaloosa.

TIA.

You also have trouble with math

I showed you that OSU was young and still beat the Bama juggernaut. Because they has a coach that could scheme, and adjust

Them I showed you a roster from LSU that was much more experienced, and yet didn't score against the younger Bama squad. Because we dont have a coach with a scheme, or the ability to adjust. At least Miles had a scheme

So that's 2 instances where your 'system' of having players stay longer produces a winner, didn't hold water. Not 1 anamoly

Winners recruit talent, and have a scheme that puts athletes in a position to win. Saban also proves you wrong because despite his 'system', he reached out to Herman and Kiffin to fix his scheme, and make adjustments.
