Owner Jim Irsay has grown increasingly frustrated with the Colts' dismal season, and the regression of franchise quarterback Andrew Luck, in particular, and is considering staff changes in-season should the team not pull out of its funk, according to league sources. The Colts face two unbeaten teams the next two weeks -- Carolina and Denver -- before their bye, and it would come as no surprise to members of the coaching staff and front office if Irsay begins a shake-up then.

It is virtually certain Pagano will not be back in 2016, and, should he be let go, many close to him believe the opening at the University of Miami would hold considerable interest with him, given how much he enjoyed being an assistant there and his close ties to prominent alumni.

He essentially put it all on the table when he did this:
Refusing any extension basically means you have a hell of a season or GTFO. I like Pagano, it's unfortunate Luck is gimp this year and their OL blows.

Sources said Pagano was “insulted” by the one-year extension Irsay offered after last season -- which included a salary virtually identical to what the coach is making in 2015. Under Pagano the Colts have reached the postseason three straights years, including a trip to the AFC Championship Game in January. Pagano’s meeting with Irsay was very brief -- Irsay intimated he was insulted by the coach’s response to his offer -- and talks never progressed, with the owner later publically exclaiming he would not be doing new deals in 2015 for his head coach or his franchise quarterback, Andrew Luck.

Pagano has been a sneaky bad coach since day 1 in Indy.

Pagano will go back to being a good DC for an NFL team. I think Cristobal may get UM with Charlie Strong as a dark horse.

I agree, they should have kept Bruce Arians.

And fire a guy because he had cancer?
That's basically how that would have played out.

I am sure a super bowl would have dampened the PR blow.
