Ok here is one for all of the Coach Oeaux crowd!

Here is something to ponder.
If you are a Coach Oeaux fan and think he should get the job, is that predicated on Dave Aranda staying? So would you still be all in on Coach Oeaux if Aranda bolts?
The reason I am saying that is because Herman is going to UT, that is pretty much a given right now and unless something crazy happens you can take that to the bank. When Herman is announced as the new HC at Texas you can bet your bottom dollar that his most important hire is going to be at DC and you can also bet your bottom dollar that Herman will put the full court press on Aranda to join him at Texas and he is going to have an open checkbook to write ANY amount needed to hire him, especially when you look at the last 4 years of Aranda's work. Basically what I am saying, is I don't think Aranda will be wearing purple & gold next year as much as I pray that doesn't happen.

Well he has had success at FSU without Aranda, you can't deny that! Now is Aranda better than any DC Fisher has had? I think so!

I really like Aranda and want him on staff. I think O could bring in a big time DC with the talent here.
O would be my second choice behind Jimbo, so I may not be the group you are asking.

Spend the $5 million dollar you want to pay for Fisher buyout on Aranda to keep him. Fisher is not worth paying $5 mil for buyout and additional $40+ million for a 5 year contract. Fisher played in one title game in 7 years and Miles played in 2 in 11 years, they are similar in style and results IMO.

I throw Herman in there also but he is off to UT so Jimbo is my second choice hands down. But if we don't get Jimbo and we hire Coach Oeaux you have to be willing to take Coach Oeaux without Aranda because I think he is headed to UT with Herman because of their checkbook and Herman's relationship with Aranda.

Who gives a damn. Last I checked LSU didn't have Ed Orgeron or Dave Aranda, when they won NCs in 2003 & 2007 and played for it in 2011. Which is still probably one of the best seasons any team has had in CFB history.
LSU needs to nail this HC hire, and let O and Aranda move on if that's the case. LSU is LSU and Aranda was never going to be here for a long time.

Great point no one is looking at, but Miles and Fisher's style of offense might be similar in they run pro-style offenses but that is where it stops! The results are completely different. Fisher does not believe in 3 yards and a cloud of dust!

Seriously you think Fisher is leaving FSU for the same money he is already getting at FSU? THAT AIN'T HAPPENING!! You can figure more like a 7 or 8 year deal at minimum $6mil a year!!!

You are correct in fact I believe Aranda will be in the NFL within the next 3 years. So I couldn't agree with you more finding the best HC is what the total focus should be on that is why I like Fisher. He ain't going to the NFL and I think he next landing spot is his last.

Aranda won't take a lateral move. He wants to become a head coach and LSU is the ticket for that. Texas is awful on defense so his stock would be hurt
