Saban is 2-0 versus the Big 12 when it counts the most...ie, BCS title games.

Also, it isn't an easy sell to get kids from the heart of SEC country to go play in the Big 12.

The SEC brand is very strong right now and the Big 12, as a whole, is generally considered dull to most people outside of the state of Texas.

If Stoops stays at OU, and Briles at Baylor and Gundy at OSU, Strong will be lucky to be 4th best in that conference.

Saban's career record against the Big 12 is 3-3, and the few times he's played up-tempo, spread offenses

I think this played a part in Saban not wanting to go to Texas. We all know he doesn't like spread offenses, but he also has trouble stopping them. He hates the thought of Briles, Kingsbury, or Holgo hanging 60 on his team.

Name a top program that those coaches have hung 60 on?

Holgorsen hung 70 on Clemson

Briles hung 52 on K State when they were #1 in the country

It was an exaggeration, but my point was that those coaches like to run fast paced, spread offenses that score and score fast. Saban has stuggled with that style of play.

Saban has just lost 7 games in the last 5 years...I seriously doubt he has nightmares about spread offenses.

If John Chavis can figure out how to stop Oregon and West Virginia (2011) and A&M the last two years, I am sure Saban can figure it out too.

Besides, that OU QB played about as perfect a game as you can play...and AJ McCarron played the worst game of his career (except maybe the first LSU game in 2011)...

Seriously though, I don't get the obsession with Jon Gruden. I thought he was an average NFL coach and he has next to no college experience.
