O will still be given fair shake. Fisher/Herman still considered top contenders

Saturday's loss to Alabama did not disqualify CEO from the running for next permenant head coach at LSU. It's not a slam dunk, but if he wins out, he'll have a chance to interview. Things have not changed significantly since last week with the exception that had CEO won out and beat Bama, he would have been the clear front runner. Now there is no real clear front runner.
Both Fisher and Herman are doing what any respectable coach would do. They're focusing on their current team and allowing their agents to back-channel in order to maximize their opportunities.
After Saturday nights loss, it has become clear to LSU that keeping Aranda as DC should be a major goal moving forward, and factor in the HC search. This gives a slight edge to Herman as there are legitimate concerns that should Herman end up at Texas, Aranda will likely join him there. They have a long-standing relationship. There are also concerns that should it come down to Texas versus LSU, Herman will likely choose Texas.
Now, I have also heard from people who claim to have contacts in Jimmy Sexton's office that Fisher will end up at Texas and Herman likely goes to LSU in that scenario, and keeps Aranda. This is the best case scenario in my opinion.
Last, I have heard that if we give the job to CEO, Aranda's likely gone. I think something's up there.
Anyway, take it for what it's worth. We'll likely know who our next head coach is on or before December 9th.

I don't know how some LSU fans still want Fisher given they could not wait to get rid of him as OC.

Fisher to TX? Don't see that happening.

and that was the sole reason people wanted to keep ceo thinking it was an aranda lock.

So is he saying the two don't get along?

Doomsday is if we keep o and lose aranda.

Umm because averages like 12 wins a year, won a Natty title, has put 3 QBs in the first round, and has out recruited Les Miles the last 7 years?
Its pretty obvious he's a great offensive mind. He just needs a solid DC and we have one waiting on him

Why would Aranda not want to stay if Jimbo is hired? He can make more of a name for himself if he stays with this D rather than going to dogshit Texas

hmmmm, not knowing the full scope of this; it's hard to make a definitive comment other than....... CRAP, it would SUCK to lose Aranda!!!

I should clarify that when I said "I think something's up there," it's just my personal opinion--reading between the lines from some things including O's presser yesterday.
The main reason Aranda's likely gone if O gets the job is he'll likely join Herman at Texas or (possibly) USC. Herman would give him a stable situation with a legit chance to contend, and boost his resume before he makes the inevitable jump to head coach.

Sounds more like if his friend gets the top job in CFB, he will follow him if offered the job. Not necessarily that he doesn't want to coach under Jimbo.
So..... Since Aranda will only be at LSU next year if Herman is here, who are some candidates O or Jimbo could bring in?

Hell, they could go to Texas and be the next Fulmer/Chavis. Aranda really doesn't seem to be the type that would enjoy being the face of a program.

I love that people on this board refuse to believe the most obvious statements unless the poster claims to have a totally unverifiable source.
