Completely agree...how long did it take to get Les fired? All I am saying is that he is no longer trying to win a championship...hes trying to save his job.

Not saying its a good move, but hes not going to hire anyone he doesnt know...period.

In his peanut brain...this will work. In reality...it will not. But we are going to be stuck with this for at least 2 more years.

That is not how this should work. Les brought in his buddies. LSU suffered.

That game was not close and ifs don't make me feel better. There is always ifs, but the result is always the same... not enough points. A great coordinator will work around weaknesses and find a way to manufacture points. The offensive players are on scholarship too, but we can never expect anything out of them. I want a coordinator that can get production out of these players, so they can contribute to a win. I don't believe Canada was the answer, but anything is better than a repeat fail from Ensminger. Our Administration sure loves giving rejects, undeserved opportunities.

We needed some offense in the Citrus Bowl.

And at Tuscaloosa and Starkville - badly.

LSU needs a new direction on offense. WE all know that. Unfortunately the ones making the decisions are only interested in job security. Thats why the OP was "O doesnt need an Elite OC"

And Troy,Syracuse, and Uf. Not to mention weak performances against BYU and UT(pass-weather).

I think a lot of people have missed the OP's point.

CEO needs an elite OC to win National Championships.

CEO doesn't need an elite OC to stay employed, as long as he has Aranda.

Which do you think O is really concerned with, at the end of the day?

BINGO!!

Hes not interested in taking chances and getting fired. We kicked a field goal in the Citrus Bowl. He only wants to go for what he thinks is a "sure thing". As wrong as he is...this is what we are stuck with.

None...but he doesnt care. As long as he wins enough to not get fired.

I would really like someone in the media to ask the following question.

"The promotion of Steve Ensminger to OC appears to be inconsistent with your initial vision of hiring the best coordinators available. Is Ensminger's promotion an admission that you do not believe LSU can win championships, no matter who the coordinator is?"

If they reply, something along the lines that Ensminger is one of the best OCs in the game, then, the follow up should be "if that's case, then why wasn't Ensminger named OC last year?"

The details do matter. Lack of good QB has held LSU back for more than a decade.

The past two years will show you he just wants it to be "close" to Bama. Doesn't care about actually beating them. He will play the game and tailor the offense in order to make that happen

OP is exactly right. LSU will be vying for Citrus Bowls and 9 win seasons. Pretty much what Miles was doing at the end, except a little worse.
