What's O's track record of getting DL to come back for their Senior Year?

Depending on what it is, I might be in favor of the switch.
O would pull his shirt off and challenge any of em to a Festivus style "Feats of Strength" and if he pins them, (Which he probably would) they stay.

I don't mind Oregeron coming on staff but I don't want to sacrifice Haley. I want them both on the staff for their recruiting ability. They could find some way to make it work. Henry has TE coaching experience(as does Miles) and Haley played LBs and I believe he also coached it several times.

Either move Haley to coach LBs or move Henry to WR+TE coach with a raise and put Oregeron on staff. Oregeron DTs -- Haley DEs. I doubt it would ever happen like this but it would be nice.

The reason we have a new OC should have been evident in the Sugar Bowl.

Oklahoma had no answer for Henry. And he gets only 9 touches, scoring twice.

You can't rush the passer when a 240 pound RB with speed is running right at you.You make Mr Speed Rusher try to shed CK and stop the run and he couldn't have done it.

Nuss did the same thing vs UGA the previous year going pass happy til he got told to run it.

Same vs LSU this year. It was time for a change.

meh, Bama ran the ball more than they threw it. I can't really blame the staff for running Yeldon who was the starter all year, more than Henry. Hindsight allows you to make this kind of statement.

Being down 2 TDs most of the 2nd half doesn't help with that either.

Nussmeier is a better coach than Kiffin by a significant amount.

Dude he left to be a HC...

Henry looks special...better than all the backs I have seen in recent memory...

Sorry Apex but Nussmeier left Alabama to be OC at Michigan.

It was evident to anyone Oklahoma could not stop Henry. 9 touches?

How is his pass protection? You think he would have had success running the ball if OU could have sold out to stop the run?

I don't. Running the football and opening holes is a numbers game.

If you like Henry you're gonna like Jalen Hurd as well. They're virtually identical.

Both are 5 stars:

Bama's Derrick Henry (2013 HS via 247)
Ht: 6-3 | Wt: 240 | 40: 4.54

Tennessee's Jalen Hurd (2014 HS via 247 - Jalen's an EE and already on campus)
Ht: 6-3 | Wt: 230
247 doesn't list his 40 but he's been clocked at 4.4 and 4.37. His slowest time is said to be 4.50.

These are two to watch next year as far as RB goes although Henry has obviously had more experence than Hurd. Lord Saban wanted and recruited Jalen Hurd but Mr. Hurd is a Tennessee kid and had no intention of going to Bammer.

As to not using Henry enough in the bowl game against OU... He was visibly gassed after runs which is probably why he got fewer total touches despite tearing it up. He should get better in that regard now that he's moved up the depth chart and is getting more work.

I think these two are gonna be very good as the develop.

Why? I don't blame Nuss but ultimately Saban and the rest of the coaches are in charge of making sure players overcome any feelings of entitlement and/or disappointment and play their best game. That's twice this has happened to Bama when they've performed worse that they should have in a bowl game.

However, OU did not play like OU had all season long. So give them credit for stepping up their game in a huge way. They obviously meant what they said about feeling that Bama was the best team in the country and they played y'all like it was the title. That was a game they felt like they prove to the world they were more than good enough and they played with chips on their shoulders while some of Bama's players, though not all, played like they didn't want to be there.

Only thing identical about them is they are larger RBs who are fast.

You're right but I was talking paper-wise and recruiting service-wise as well as height and weight. RBs that size who run that fast aren't common.

Or Saban hit the reset before the bowl game. Lot of practice reports where younger guys were getting reps before upperclassmen. That's when Kiffin was brought in, etc...

Just used the extra practices as a winter practice period similar to spring practice.

Orgeron is "respected"? Who the hell by ? He's down da bayou trailer trash & the only reason he's perceived to be a great recruiter is because he's cheated his arse off everywhere he's been. as well, everyone knows how much he hates LSU. Consider who one of his best friends is: Bobby Hebert.

Why is this thread still going? Is there pertinent info on Orgeron to UA?

Could have sworn one of Coach O's kids went to LSU, and I'm damned sure T-Bob Hebert suited up on Saturdays for the Tigers not long ago.

Why so much hate for Bebé?
